Use the four-step problem solving method to solve the following. Draw the Four-Step Square on loose-leaf and be sure to show all your work.

1. Mr. O’Shea is building a fence around his rectangular pool. The pool is 12 feet wide and 24 feet long. He puts a fence post up every 4 feet. How many posts does he need?

2. Elaine is practicing her long jump. On her first try, she jumps 6 feet. On each of her next jumps, she jumps 1 foot farther than the jump before. How far does she jump on her fifth try?

3. James has been bouncing a golf ball and he has found out that if you drop (not throw) a golf ball on the pavement, it will bounce back one half the distance from which it was dropped. He dropped it from his bedroom window on the second floor which was 16 feet up from the driveway. How far did it bounce for the fourth time?

4. Antelope Hill, Buffalo corner, Coyote Canyon, and Dry Gulch lie along a straight road in the order names. The distance from Antelope Hill to Dry Gulch is 100 miles.
