Congratulations to our
2017 High School Graduate,
Weldon Buford, who will
graduate on this coming
Saturday, May 26, from Alvin
High School. Weldon is the
son of proud parents Jason
and Samantha Buford and
grandson of Mike and Jolene
Buford. Weldon plans to
enter the Marines or the Coast
Guard in the near future.
Those to remember in prayer…
Harold Anglin was moved on Friday to the Cozy
Corner personal care home in Alvin, under
hospice care. The family requests that there be
no visitors at this time.
Bill Pierpoint, who along with his wife Cheryl
placed membership recently, has begun a new
chemotherapy treatment for Stage 4 brain
cancer. He previously had surgery followed by
many months of chemotherapy, which was
working well for a time, but the most recent MRI
showed that the cancer is once again growing
and spreading. Bill began a brand new chemo
treatment on this past Thursday.
Linda Bynum underwent a lumpectomy,
Wednesday, to remove both tumors found in a
recent mammogram. Her surgery went very well
and tests on two lymph nodes showed no sign
of cancer cells. She will begin follow-up
radiation in about three weeks, but the doctors
believe she is now cancer free. Linda
appreciates everyone’s prayers on her behalf.
Bill Andrews continues to receive physical
therapy at the PAM Rehab Hospital in Clear
Lake, following his hospitalization last week due
to cellulitis in his left leg that had spread to his
blood stream. He is making very good progress
now and expects to be released this Tuesday.
Don McClesky, a former member, just received
test results that show that he is having a
reoccurrence of cancer, this time in the T3 and
T8 vertebrae in his back. He will be receiving
liquid radiation infusion shots once a month for
6 months. This treatment has a very high
success rate.
Rose Morris, Richard Morris’ mother was moved
to Kindred Hospital this past Tuesday due to an
infection in the bone. She is in Room 233 and
will be there for 6 or more weeks.
Mary White, Larry Thornhill’s sister, has made
some improvement in the past week, as she
continues to fight ovarian cancer and is at
home. Mary lives in Hillcrest Village behind the
Thornhills.

———————————————- VBS
Please mark your calendars for our VBS, which
will take place this year on June 19 - 22. If
you can help as a teacher, please let Kim
Hamilton or Joyce Davenport know. There
will be something to do for everyone.
PLEASE bring your grocery bags for VBS.
Please be sure they don’t have any holes
in them and have them in bundles of 20.
We are also in need of some small, plastic
containers (i.e. butter containers).
Welcome
If you are visiting with us, we would like to
welcome you and get to know you better.
Please take a moment and fill out our visitor
card and place it in the collection plate as it is
passed around.
———————————————————————
Remember to pick up a Children’s Bulletin,
located on the table in the auditorium. You
will find bulletins for ages 3-6 as well as
ages 7-12. Crayons are also located on this
table.
———————————————————————
We also have an attended nursery for
infant through 3 years of age.
Arms of Hope
Medina Children’s home will be making a pick up
of clothing and lightly used household items in the
next week or so. Please bring any items you would
like to donate, as soon as possible, and place them
in the room that used to be the old nursery, next to
the electrical room.
