Private School vs. Public School

There are different kinds of private schools in Bulgaria but we will try to compare one of the most popular

schools from this type with the typical public school. Lets go!

The Private School

• This private school Is located in Veliko Tarnovo, around 10 kilometers from our town – Gorna Oryahovitsa.

The Private School• It offers a five-year course of study as it is

licensed to teach students from Grades 8 through 12. There are two major areas of concentration: "Foreign Languages" and "Computer Science."

The Private School

• Admission to this school is granted to students who have successfully completed Grade 7 and

whose GPA is not less than 4.50 (6.00 being the highest GPA). They also have to go through

entrance examination and only 60 students (30 boys and 30 girls) are getting in.

The Private School• After you pass the exams and find your name in the

list of 60 students you get your uniform and choose your “free time activities”

The Private School• Then you start classes in modern classrooms,

with teachers from different countries.

The Private School• It sounds grate, right?... But to learn in this school

you have to pay up to 3 000$ every year. This means you have to pay around 15 000$ for the

whole period of your education there. Isn`t it way too expensive?

The Public School

• On the other hand we have public schools. Most of them can teach students from grades 1 through 12. They are free and some of them give better education than the private schools.

with new computers, boards and furniture.
