Depending on economic states the private universities of Bangladesh can be categorized in 3 major categories.
They are…

Profiting Private Universities (PPU)
At present, there are few universities in this category. These universities have sound income from students’ tuition & from other fund.

Non-Profiting Private Universities (NPPU)
At present, more than few universities are there in this category. These universities do NOT have adequate income due to less number of students or lack of funds.
Self-Sustaining Private Universities (SSPU)
At present, most of the universities in Bangladesh belong to this category. These universities are surviving badly often at ‘hand to mouth’ situation.

What is government doing?
Government does NOT providing any money/fund/aid to them. Instead, government demand tax on the annual financial turnover by each university.
Government official often harass them at the name of audit & quality control. Rumors exposed that, some of those officials take bribes by threatening them.

What the investors think?
The common belief of the investors/trusties is that, it is a good field of business where huge profit is possible with the elevation of social status.
It doesn’t matter in what extent the quality is being ensured in reality but it must have pen-paper quality assurance.
