Private Prayer

Holy Name Tuesday Noon– 2pm (use Main entry)

St. Mary Tuesday/Thursday 4-6pm (use Main entry)

Effective at 6 am. June 15, pastors may open the main church in their parish grouping for private pray-er for a period not to exceed two hours twice a week.

At no time during this prayer time may more than 10 people be present in the church. Pastors are to en-sure the open church prayer periods are monitored.

All social distancing rules should be pursued, and masks are required for those utilizing the churches for private prayer.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is prohibited during these time periods.

LET US PRAY FOR . . . Catholics firmly believe in the power of prayer. Out of this belief comes the practice of offering Mass for a particular intention. Often, we pray for those who have died, but virtually any need might be a prayer intention (protection from storms, the blessing of rain, or a particular personal need). When we speak, God listens. The customary offering is $10.00 per inten-tion. Envelopes are available in the main entryway to church and may be placed in the collection basket. Please make checks payable to “Mass Fund” - not to the parish.

All Parishioners: We have an over abundance of Mass intentions at St. Marys and we are low on Mass intentions at Holy Name. As we move forward if we are low at Holy Name for daily Mass we will use some of the intentions from St. Marys.

Dispensation. All the faithful ar e to be r eminded that the obligation to attend Sunday Mass is still dispensed. The elderly and more vulnerable/high risk parishioners should be reminded that be-cause of this, it is not a mortal sin to miss Sunday Mass, even though it is being offered, and that it is preferable that they remain home at this time.

Vulnerable Persons. Those who are 65 and older and/or have under lying medical conditions are considered be at a high risk if they contract COVID-19. Therefore, no special Masses or communion services are to be offered for this group, as doing so would convey a mixed message about both the dispensed Mass obligation and the strong preference for such groups to remain at home.

Weddings, Funerals, and Quinceañeras. Once public Masses r esume, weddings and funerals may be celebrated utilizing the same social distancing guidelines applicable for Sunday Mass. This is to be done within reason, still preferring that only close family and friends are present. Quinceañeras, because they are a cultural and not sacramental celebration, will remain suspended for the time.

Face masks are r equir ed as of r ight now. We will let you know as soon as this changes.
