Buyers can choose between the well-equipped Prius and Prius Touring models. The latter comes equipped with a sport-tuned

Prius has all-aluminum 1.5 liter (DOHC) 16-valve 4 cyl gasoline engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), this engine produce 76 horsepower @ 5,000 rpm.

MG1 is used to recharge the hybrid battery and supplement battery power under heavy acceleration. It also functions as the starter motor for the gasoline engine.

MG2 is the electric motor that can power the vehicle by itself at times when it is most efficient (starting out, low speeds, coasting and reversing). It also functions as

an acceleration enhancement for the gasoline engine.
