The Inmate Mural Program was created by

The Florida State Arts in Corrections

Project. David Gussak and Leslie

Neil organized this group.

Inmates created sketches and the grad students

working with the project made a composite for the

mural. The results were painted

on the dorms.

Not all inmates are lucky enough toexperience an art program in their

Facility. An aspiring artist by the name of

David Jones also used art as therapy, but on his own.

He loved to sketch pictures of his loved ones and his self esteem

was greatly elevated when hisfamily told him how they loved to

receive the pictures he drew.

A drawing by David for his sister Lisa
