Armadillo Ball CREATING A TOY BALL INSPIRED BY THE FREE MOVING BANDS OF ARMADILLOS
The free-moving bands of armadillos’ armor allows them to be
extremely flexible.
How can I use this trait of movement without hinges in a toy
ball for children?

Extinct Friends INSPIRING CHILDREN’S INTEREST IN CONSERVATION THROUGH SIMPLE TOYS
The increasingly controvercial aspect of caging animals in zoos, seaworld, and
similar destinations asks this question:
Is inspiring children to be interested in conservation worth the toll it takes on the animals
and trainers?
15
“We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children”
By introducing kids to extinct species through simple toys, we can perhaps inspire concern for the future they will live in without
jeopardizing animals and humans
1. Passenger Pigeon - Became extinct in 1914 due to hunt-ing and habitat destruction. This North American bird was once one of the most abundant birds in the world
2. Pyrenean Ibex - Became extinct in 2000 due to hunting and its inability to compete with other species in the Iberian Peninsula. Efforts were made to try to clone an ibex but were met with limited success
3. Baiji River Dolphin - Declared functionally extinct in 2006 due to human industrialization. Found only in the Yangtze River, its habitat was increasingly used for fishing, transpor-tation, and hydroelectricity.
