In this print screen, I

chose the colour of

the background of

my magazine, thecolour I chose was

grey. This is because

it was a colour that

received rave reviews

in my questionnaire.

The next thing I added

was my image. I placed

my image in that

position because thearms of my female

model will help give

my cover an interesting

Z layout.

important cover lines. I

chose the colour blue

because it was a colour

that was well received on

my questionnaire. I chose

the colour gold because

this is issue is celebrating

the best debut acts.

cover lines. I chose

the colour whitebecause it stands out

in front of the

colours grey and

black.

because that zone

In this step, I placed the

masthead on the top

left, added the logo on

the bottom of the page

and I used a grey

background. I decided

to use the grey

background because it

promotes the idea of

house style.

In this step, I introduceda bit of text to my

contents page. I also

placed a small box that

resembles the flag of theUnited States. Despite the

fact that I risked house

style, I think it was

effective because it gives

the American artists agood representation.

In this step, I addedmore subheadings to

my contents page. The

idea of house style is

present again becausethe design of these

subheadings mirrors

the design of the other

subheadings.

Next, I added an

image and a short

description. I also

added a pagenumber. This

makes it easier for

my audience to

navigate around my

magazine.

involved me making

another subheading.

This subheading wasplaced on a black box

because it directly

addresses theaudience.

In this print screen, I hadplaced an image as the

background of my page. I

did this because I had not

yet done it in my

magazine. It alsochallenges the

conventions of

mainstream magazines

because they very rarelydedicate one large page

on a new artists image.

In this step, I addedsome text and design

to this page. I used the

colours, blue and

black. This is becausethey are two colours I

have frequently used

in my magazine.

For this part of thefeature page, I created

a gradient fill. I used

these colours for thegradient because it

links well with the

image in the other

part of the spread.

I again decided toplace in the

institutional logo

at the bottom of

the page, again

promoting housestyle.

the last page to this

page. I did this toensure that text in the

spread would not be

affected by the centre

spine.

pasted writing from

a word processor to

Photoshop. Thisgave me my first

large bulk of text in

my magazine.

box with a quote

in front of it.This is typical of

mainstream

magazines.

pasted it from a

words processor.

Next, I added aninsert accompanied

by a caption. I also

added another bulkof text. Adding

captions to inserts in

an articles are typical

if real worldmagazines.
