In December, we were designated a “Social Enterprise” (SE), Certification

Record #7460, in the County of Los Angeles’ newly established effort to

provide bid preferences to organizations that provide training and employment

services in the community.

Dear Community Partners,I am proud to announce that the YWCA Greater Los Angeles (YWCA GLA) has embarked upon an incredible endeavor: we have successfully established a non-profit social enterprise through our Digital Learning Academy (DLA) and the success of our Digital Print Center. This non-profit social enterprise aims to support young people for the challenges of today and the jobs of tomorrow… with your print orders!

Our state-of-the-art Digital Print Center provides commercial printing solutions to businesses throughout Los Angeles, while also providing students with hands-on training and a sustainable future. We truly want your print business. Our non-profit social enterprise reinvests back into our local programs and communities.

Our primary goal at the YWCA Greater Los Angeles is to prepare economically-disadvantaged persons for career paths in the digital arena. Our non-profit social enterprise addresses the digital “Skills Gap” where employers who are increasingly reliant on technology are unable to fill positions for lack of a qualified labor force. Our training emphasizes skills that include digital printing, 3D printing and industrial product design, coding, programming and other emerging industry needs for a skilled workforce.

When this YWCA GLA non-profit social enterprise profits…..the community profits. Proceeds from the Digital Print Center directly benefit the Digital Learning Academy, which seeks to solve the technical “Skills Gap” in Los Angeles with free technology training for at-risk youth. This state-of-the-art facility also provides a personalized approach to custom print solutions. Our New Skills at Work Research indicates that a shortfall and delivery of candidates are nestled at approximately 596,000 individuals that need training for these jobs and projected employment growth of 14% by 2019.

The Digital Print Center non-profit social enterprise applies commercial strategies to maximize human and societal well-being. The social enterprise initiative merges the mission of our organization with the market-driven approach of a business.

Where is the Digital Print Center located and what are the hours of operation? The Digital Print Center is housed in YWCA GLA’s Hollywood Studio Club building located at 1215 Lodi Place, Los Angeles, CA 90038 (Cross streets: Santa Monica Blvd and Gower St).The Digital Print Center is open Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Core competencies include brochures, flyers, letterhead, business cards, booklets, calendars, post cards, invitations, labels, NCR forms, event tickets, presentation folders, banners, posters and much more. Graphic design services are available upon request.
