Basic Parameters

• Source• NodeThe junction between two or more pipesThe free end of spur pipeWhere a change of diameter occursAn input to a networkAn off take from a networkThe inlet or outlet of valves etc

Basic Parameter

• Tree : This describes a network in which each pipe is connected to a source via one route only.

• Loop: This describes a condition where two or more paths exist to supply a particular pipe or within a network

Network

• Network Structures: Most networks consist of loops & trees

• No loops, is a relatively simple network, can be solved analytically.

Kirchhoff's Laws

• First Law: ∑Q =0

• Second Law : ∑ ∆P =0 ∑ ∆P2 =0
