Morning routine

As the students arrive of a morning, they are to place their bags away, grab their hats and

head out to the cola/playground equipment. A teacher will be on duty out there. At 9.00am,

music will play and a morning assembly will happen under the cola. I have moved the

chalkboard out there for students to use and I will look into purchasing some toy cars and a

mat for students to play with.

Homework

Homework and home readers will start next week.

Parent Information Evening

I will be holding a parent information evening on Thursday 27th February starting at 7pm.

P&C will be cooking up some sausages before we have the meeting. This will just be a

chance to hear how we plan to set the classes up and possibly a chance to meet the new 2nd

teacher.

Quandialla/Caragabal Swimming Carnival

On Monday we will be travelling to Quandialla swimming pool to participate in the

swimming carnival. Please return the permission notes and remember travel is by private car.

We will need to be there by 9.45am.

Spinach Torte

Ingredients

Melted butter, to grease

125g Arnott's Sao biscuits, coarsely broken

60g butter, melted

40g (1/2 cup) finely grated parmesan

500g cream cheese, at room temperature

250g (1 cup) Greek-style natural yoghurt

4 eggs

Pinch of nutmeg

4 green shallots, ends trimmed, thinly sliced

1 bunch English spinach, ends trimmed, washed, dried, finely chopped

Mixed salad leaves, to serve

Preheat oven to 180°C. Brush a 22cm round springform pan with melted butter to

lightly grease.

Place the biscuit in the bowl of a food processor and process until it resembles

coarse breadcrumbs. Add the butter and parmesan and process until finely crushed

and well combined. Press the mixture into the base of the prepared pan. Cover with

plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 15 minutes to chill.

Meanwhile, place the cream cheese, yoghurt, eggs and nutmeg in the bowl of a food

processor and process until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.

Transfer to a bowl. Add the green shallot and spinach and stir to combine.

Pour the spinach mixture over the biscuit base. Bake in oven for 50-55 minutes or

until set and golden brown. Set aside for 10 minutes to cool slightly. Cut into wedges

and serve warm or at room temperature with mixed salad leaves, if desired
