newest students to join our great school.

Next week SRC students will return to Southaven Aged Care to visit the residents and our debating students

These are just some of the wonderful opportunities and activities happening this term. A Term 4 Calendar

will be sent home later this week.

Tell Them From Me Parent Survey – closes next Friday

We are interested in your feedback about our school and would appreciate if you could complete the online

Tell Them from Me Parent Survey. This survey takes approximately 15 minutes and provides our school with

very valuable information about the effectiveness of our learning and wellbeing programs so that we may

reflect and improve on our practices. The information that you provide will be completely anonymous; we

receive data without names.

Please use the link below to access the survey and complete by Friday 26 October. Thank you to those parents

who have already completed the survey

Ninja Warrior-Athon

A huge thank you to the P & C and the entire school community for their support in ensuring a very successful

over $10, 000 which will go towards purchasing new technology for the school. Special mention to Litsa

Karatasoulis and Fiona Burns for coordinating this wonderful event! Everyone had a blast!

Kids in the Kitchen!

Mini Sandwich Kebabs (Makes 3)

Cheese is essential for building strong bones and teeth. Cheese primarily contains milk, which is a great source of calcium. Regular consumption of calcium in cheese slices prevents tooth cavities and bone problems such as osteoporosis, making it the perfect pick for your growing child. Calcium is extremely important for children especially in these developmental years, where they are building their bone mass and growing stronger. Ingredients:

2 slices wholegrain or wholemeal bread

4 slices of ham or turkey

Cheese cut into 6 or 9 cubes or you can use sliced cheese

3-4 cherry tomatoes sliced in half

3 small bamboo or plastic skewers

Method:

1. Prepare all the ingredients: Slice the bread, ham or turkey, tomato and cheese into squares approx. 2cm across.

2. Thread the ingredients onto the skewers, alternating between bread and fillings. If packing for a lunch box, make sure you have ham or cheese between the wet tomato and dry bread to avoid it going soggy in transit.

3. You could also pack the components separately and add a few skewers so that your kids can build their own before eating.

CAMP

Well done to all Stage 3 students who attended our annual Stage 3 camp to Bathurst

Goldfields last term. What a fabulous time we all had discovering what life was like during

the Australian Goldrush during the 1850’s. It was a great experience learning in an outdoor

classroom how to pan for gold, explore a real mine shaft, play traditional children’s games

and explore an old gold mining village to name a few.

All students are to be commended for their outstanding, respectful behaviour which was

frequently commented on by the staff running the activities.

GRADUATION BEAR & BALL

A reminder to all Year 6 students, that if you wish to purchase a graduation bear or ball the

ASAP. Notes are available on school website if you have misplaced yours.
