Mashael AlKuwari (Gr4A): had won the 3rd Rank (Bronze Medal) in a Tennis Competition within the School’s Olympic Program.

Yousef Alsayed (Gr5C): had won the 3rd Rank (Bronze Medal) in Taekwondo within the School’s Olympic Program.

The winners in Qur’an Competition among other schools are: Adam Ahmad (Gr2B) who won the 1st Rank (for 2nd level), and Mohammed AlMuhannadi (Gr6B) had won the 3rd Rank (for 1st level). We are so proud of our motivated students who achieve continuous success, and of our dedicated supportive teachers who encourage and train them constantly. Our Goals are: Developing a systematic and sustainable strategy for reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of the school goals.

Almost all students at AHIS will improve their problem solving skills in Math. And, most students will become proficient writers in the English language. In order to achieve our goals, we apply different strategies, monitor and follow up.

The AdvancEd team visit for supervising the accreditation renewal process will be in May, all stakeholders are involved in this process for school improvement.

On the 12th of April, ONLY our Grade 4 students will conduct the main test of “Progress in International Reading Literacy Study” (PIRLS 2016 ), please encourage your children to participate effectively and not to be absent, doing their best. The test is important to measure the improvement of students at the 4th grade in reading and identifying areas of strength and weakness. The test will keep us informed about how our students in Qatar are performing in comparison to their peers in other countries and how to compare programs of studying and teaching practices.

Our English Department prepared a plan to train our students on the test, they put extra reading and writing worksheets on our school’s website, please ask your child to solve them and return them back so that the class teachers could provide him/her with a proper feedback. The test will include reading passages accompanied by multiple choice and open ending questions related to the passages. On the other hand we will send the Parent Questionnaire for the students’ parents to complete and return back on the next day with your child.

In order to engage our parents in their children’s education and have them enjoy mathematics outside school through a series of fun and engaging activities, the Math department launched a program called “Can you solve it?” The program demonstrates challenging mathematics and emphasizes the importance of high-quality math education for students and parents. Every week, we are displaying a challenging Math problem via the weekly agenda http://www.alhekma.com/parents_login/, and the parents are required to solve it and send their answers (through CLASS DOJO, or on a paper sent with their child) and at the end of the week we are displaying the correct answer.

One of our goals is working to improve our students English language, our English Department launched a daily program “Say it Right” to enhance implicit learning. Students will be asked in the assembly about the daily poster presented in the playground and provide us with correct answers, students are rewarded shark money.

Updates about AdvancEd Accreditation: the school finished the self-study and we are now working on Chapter 3: Preparing for the External Review, we are expecting the visit by the review team from the 1st to the 5th of May 2016. I would like to thank the parents who sent the parent surveys; we received 185 surveys out of 230 families. We will share the results as soon as we finalize analyzing data.

اإلختبار بإجراء 2016 أبريل 12 بتاريخ فقط الرابع الصف سيقوم طالب/طالبات األساسي »الدراسة الدولية لقياس مدى تقدم القراءة في العالم« )بيرلز 2016(، يرجى تشجيع أبنائكم/بناتكم على المشاركة الفاعلة وعدم الغياب وبذل قصارى الطالب/الطالبات تقدم مدى قياس في اإلختبار هذا أهمية تكمن جهدهم. بالصف الرابع على صعيد القراءة وتحديد مواطن القوة والضعف. هذا اإلختبار يبقينا على علم حول مستوى أداء الطالب/الطالبات في قطر مقارنًة بزمالئهم في الدول األخرى مع كيفية قياس ومقارنة برامج وممارسات التعليم والتدريس.

هذا على الطالب/الطالبات لتدريب خطة بوضع اإلنجليزية اللغة إدارة قامت اإلختبار، حيث قاموا بتوفير المزيد من أوراق العمل للقراءة والكتابة عبر الموقع بالعمل القيام أبنائكم/بناتكم من الطلب يرجى بالمدرسة. الخاص اإللكتروني الراجعة التغذية منحهم/منحهن الصف لمعلمي يتسنى لكي إعادتها ثم عليها المالئمة. سيتضمن اإلختبار نص للقراءة مصحوب بأسئلة اإلختيارات المتعددة بإرسال الجانب اآلخر، سنقوم النهاية تتعلق بهذا النص. على وأسئلة مفتوحة استبيان أولياء األمور لكي يتم إستيفاءه ثم إعادته في اليوم التالي مع أبنائكم/

بناتكم.

من أجل أن يشارك أولياء األمور في العملية التعليمية الخاصة بأبنائهم/بناتهم مع اإلستمتاع بالرياضيات خارج المدرسة من خالل حلقات من األنشطة التفاعلية والترفيهية، قام قسم الرياضيات بإطالق برنامج يطلق عليه »هل بإمكانك حلها؟« يعرض هذا البرنامج بعض أنشطة الرياضيات مع التأكيد على أهمية تعليم مادة الرياضيات بجدودة عالية للطالب/الطالبات وأولياء األمور. نقوم كل أسبوع بعرض http://www.alhekma. مشكلة حسابية في الرياضيات عبر الروزنامة األسبوعيةcom/parents_login/ حيث نطلب من أولياء األمور حلها ثم إرسال إجاباتهم عبر )CLASS DOJO أو ورقة مع أبنائهم/بناتهم( ثم نقوم بعرض اإلجابة الصحيحة في

Congratulations to those who memorized the Qur’an... God bless you.

The Unit of Memorization of the Holy Qur’an in Qatar organized the annual schools’ competition of memorizing the Qur’an for all students. Students from various grade levels from Al-Hekma International School participated in this competition at the committees’ headquarters. The boys met near Alrahma Mosque and the girls met in the center of Moza bint Mohamed in Alwaab area

Our students displayed a great effort and dedication in memorizing the Qur’an verses with the help of their parents and supervising teachers. The students practiced and were given feedback to help improve their performance and level. After the results were announced and published in the local Newsletters, our students achieved excellent and very good ranks. The school’s principal distributed appreciative certificates to the winners and everyone was very excited.

On this occasion, we advised our dear students to continue the learning process, reading the Qur’an and understanding its meaning. We also urge parents to build their children’s confidence and motivate them to be lifelong learners. We ask God for reconciliation and guidance for all, blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammed…

During March, the KG department enjoyed many great activities. They participated in 100 Days of School where parents were invited to join the activity in classes. Also, the students participated in the Mother’s Day activity on 21st of March 2016. The KG teachers helped their students prepare gifts for their mothers with the creation of an amazing art craft to express their feelings and wishes. In addition to that the KG students enjoyed going on a trip out to Al Khor Park. In the park, the students watched farm animals and different kinds of birds, while having some fun in the playing area. In addition, we distributed the report cards for KG students and we had a parents meeting on 29th of February to share the amazing improvement of the students’ levels. I would like to share with you some ideas about aggressive behavior and how to deal with that kind of character.

Ideas How to Deal with Aggressive Behavior In Children

1. Parenting Style:

Parenting style plays an important role in educating aggression. Use accidental aggression as teaching moments. For example, if your child hurts his friend, don’t react then and there and yell at him. Instead, use that incident to show your child how an aggressive behavior can hurt others. Make your child realize and apologize sincerely to the other child.

2. Appreciate Your Child:

Positive discipline strategies such as motivating them by appreciating and rewarding will help reduce their aggression.

3. Discuss In An Appropriate Manner:

Parents need to stay calm to handle their children. Even if you had a tough day, calm down and discuss with your child about his actions in a peaceful way.

4. Be a Role Model:

Always remember that children often imitate the behavior of their parents. If you, as a parent, act aggressively, then chances are that your child will copy you.

الّنشاطات الّدولية بالعديد من الّروضة في مدرسة الحكمة قام قسم الممتعة خالل شهر مارس. منها اإلحتفال بمرور مئة يوم دراسي، وقد اإلحتفالية هذه أبناءهم لمشاركة الّطالب أمور ألولياء دعوة توجيه تم الجميلة من خالل عمل فني مشترك ومعبر عن مضمونها. هذا باإلضافة الى اإلحتفال بيوم اأُلم في 21 مارس 2016 حيث عّبَرالطالب عن حبهم

إلمهاتهم من خالل عمل يدوي صنعته أناملهم الجميلة بالمدرسة .

من و23 20 يومي الّثانية والّروضة اأُلولى الّروضة طالب شارك كما مارس 2016 برحلة ترفيهية تعليمية إلى منتزه الخور. شاهدوا خالل هذِه الّرحلة بعض الحيوانات وتعرفوا على أنواع مختلفة من الّطيور، وكان يوًما أولياء اجتماع الطالب في تقارير بتوزيع . بعد ذلك قمنا ممتًعا ومسلًيا األمور في 29 فبراير والذي تّم خالله مناقشة التقدم األكاديمي للطالب

مع المدرسات .

أخيًرا يسعدني أن أشاطركم بعض األفكار حول كيفية التعامل مع الّسلوك العدواني عند بعض األطفال وطريقة تغيير هذه الصفة في شخصيتهم

كي ال تتفاقم.

من والّتنبيه الّتوجيه طريقة استخدام يتم حيث التربية: أسلوب -1مخاطرالحوادث العدائية بداًل من المعاقبة الفورية .

2 - تقدير أبناءكم: حيث إَن التعليقات االيجابية تعمل كحافز للتطور وتحسين الّسلوك العدواني .

3 - الّتعامل بطريقة هادئة مع االطفال: و تدعوهذه الطريقة اآلباء إلى زام الهدوء ِفي الّتعامل مع أطفالهم حتى لو كان يومهم صعًبا، وتعليم التِّ

األبناء بالتعامل الهادئ .

4- القدوة الحسنة: تذكر دائًما أن األطفال كثيًرا ما يقلدون آبائهم بجميع تصرفاتهم الجيدة والغير الجيدة فكن قدوًة حسنة تضمن جياًل أفضل .
