Thanks again to our wonderful P&C for all their efforts at the Election BBQ last Saturday. From all accounts their stalls were very popular and all food was sold. On Monday our Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander students participated in a cultural day of storytelling and ochre painting with Chris Tobin, a local Aboriginal elder. This was a fabulous experience and we look forward to offering more throughout the year. Tuesday saw our two senior soccer teams play at Wentworth Falls. Both teams played well and, whilst they weren’t successful, their effort and sportsmanship was excellent. Stage 2 went on a fabulous excursion to Cabramatta on Tuesday where they saw a Buddhist temple, ate traditional Vietnamese food, were blessed by Monks, saw lion dancing and experienced a traditional Vietnamese market place. On Thursday our two debating teams had their first debates for the year and for some of them their first debate ever. They were both narrowly defeated by Springwood Public School and presented excellent arguments. Today is the District Cross Country carnival at Blackheath and we have 48 students representing our school. It’s a beautiful day at Blackheath today - perfect running conditions. We had great results from all our age teams which meant we came second overall. We had a number of children in the top 6 and out of this 8 qualified for the Regional Cross Country on the 12th June at Eastern Creek Raceway. Go Hazo! Next Friday the 31st May is our K-6 whole school assembly at 12:30pm. Parents and caregivers are more than welcome to attend. Ribbons from the District Cross Country carnival will be awarded to the students. Mrs Jamieson will return for Week 6 and I will continue to relieve in her absence. Enjoy your weekend. Dear Families,

What a busy Week 4 we have had at Hazelbrook Public School.

PBL Positive Behaviour for Learning

Each week a student or teacher is recognised for being a

respectful, responsible learner.

When students or teachers receive a ‘PBL Bee’ they put their

Bee into the hive outside of 1L.

On Monday mornings the hive is raided and a winner is

drawn.

This week’s winners are:

Ella M KH

Evie R 2BG

Kynan B 3-4L

Ella L 5-6S

PBL RULE OF THE WEEK:

I am RESPECTFUL if I take care of

my own property and the school

grounds and property.

P & C ELECTION BBQ Thank you to everyone who helped organise and

run our P&C election barbecue on Saturday! Our

Eurovision themed sauces were a hit, especially

the Israeli hot sauce! We couldn't have done it

without each and every one of our volunteers,

and the funds will go towards resources for our

students.

Thank you Liz, Helen, Vickii, Paul, Brian, Jason,

Stef, Lisa, Di, Bart, Kate, Sooz, Cathy, Vanessa,

Mark and Thomas, plus our greenhouse team

with the plant stall: Susie, Elissa and Gloria.

And a special thanks to the four Mac M students

Elizabeth, Eden, Katie and Charlotte for running

the home-made drinks stall!
