Welcome back everyone to another awesome week of learning at Broken Hill
Public School as we continue to inspire, show integrity and inclusion for all.
Mr Fisher has been very busy and is currently away supporting Burke Ward Public
School. The current principal of BWPS is on leave for the remainder of the term. As a
network of schools, we support each other! Mr Fisher is offering his leadership and
collaboration and skills to support the BWPS community.
In his absence I will be relieving in his position. Mrs Parker and Mr Jones will be
working together as Infants/Preschool Assistant Principal. If you have any questions
please feel free to chat to us at any stage.
We are very proud of all our students’ efforts across many aspects here at Broken
Hill Public. Congratulations to Tarleigh Williams for receiving the Week 7 Principal’s
Award for using her integrity and being inclusive in the playground.
You are AWESOME Tarleigh.
Congratulations
Well done to our senior Tag Team on winning the NRL Tag Gala Day last Friday. An
awesome effort by the whole team! A very big thanks to Mr Shipway for working
with the team and preparing them with training. Thank you also to the large
contingent of supporters who went along to cheer the team. Awesome team
work!
UPDATE TO POSTPONED EVENTS
Yesterday I wrote to families identifying the need to postpone a range of events
and activities. A further update is provided below:
The school athletics carnival has been postponed until further notice
Scripture has been cancelled for the remainder of the term
All excursions have been postponed or cancelled and will be discussed at
and communicated with the P&C.
All inter school sport requiring students to catch buses to external venues has
been cancelled. Normal sport will still operate at school.
Attendance
A reminder that consistent attendance is required to reach your child’s
educational goals and outcomes. In light of Covid-19, and in accordance with
Department procedures, NSW Education has been planning and operating in
accordance with its plan to support the safety and wellbeing of staff and students.
If your child is unwell with a respiratory illness they should remain at home until
symptoms clear up and notify the school. Our school attendance has been
fantastic and normal school attendance is expected.
