RX600 S4 - BIOS Setup Utility Draft Version 5

1 IntroductionBIOS setup provides settings for system functions and the hardware configu-ration for your system. Any changes you make take effect as soon as you save the settings and quit BIOS setup. The individual menus in BIOS setup provide settings for the following areas:

● Main – System functions

● Advanced – Advanced system configuration

● Security – Security functions

● Power – Power management functions

● Server – Server management

● Boot – Configuration of the start-up sequence

● Exit – Save and quit

The setting options depend on the hardware configuration of your system. Menus or certain setting options may therefore not be available in your system's BIOS setup, or the menus may be in a different place, depending on the BIOS revision.

V Caution

When secret keys are deleted in the TPM, all data which was signed or encrypted using these keys can no longer be decrypted. Your system’s security profile is lost irretrievably.

I All actions except No Change must be confirmed in the Physical Presence operations window. This window cannot be accessed via the normal BIOS setup. It appears automatically during the POST phase when a change to the configuration is to be performed on the TPM. This can be initiated either by the BIOS setup or via an operating system with TPM support.

ASR&R Boot Delayspecifies the delay of the system restart after a shutdown due to an error (1 - 30 minutes). The restart occurs after the set waiting time has elapsed.

Power Cycle Delayspecifies the mimnimum time in seconds (0 - 15) between power-off and a consecutive power-on

Boot Retry Counterspecifies the maximum number of attempts (0-7) to start the operating system. This parameter depends on the setting of the O/S Boot Timeout parameter on the one hand. On the other hand, other critical system errors can lead to a restart of the system and thus to a decrease in the counter value. After the last attempt, the system is finally shut down, or, if configured, the diagnostic system is started.
