ADRIAN AVDEEFF

BIOGRAPHY Adrian is the son of a pharmacist and while his family moved from place to place, his one constant was his love of Marvel comics and TV: X-Men and X-files. He studied at the Vancouver Film School, after which he worked as manager at a major movie theatre where he consumed hundreds of films. He then travelled the world as an officer aboard a cruise ship with a varied and colourful crew before pursuing his writing career. Connection and commitment: relevant themes not only in Adrian's life, but in his writing, as he explores how to find our role and meaning in this world.

ANDREW MALABRE

BIOGRAPHY Originally from Winnipeg, Andrew cut his teeth in the entertainment industry through Second City and has performed sketch and improv across Canada. He made the shift from stage to screen first as an actor but then quickly found his calling in screenwriting. Andrew has been a script coverage analyst for Darius Films, was a Scriptapalooza finalist and his script The Livingston’s was a TIFF Telefilm Pitch This! project optioned by Creative Alliance. He is currently working with Rugged Media writing their Hip-Hop movie “Foot Up”.

When a politician is witnessed committing a hit and run by the mafia, he’s forced to juggle his morals against the demands that are forced upon him.

SYNOPSIS

After his re-election party, the mayor of Winnipeg commits a hit and run and the only witness is the head of the Ukrainian mafia. In order to keep them quiet, the mayor must comply to their demands and if he doesn’t, his life, family and career will be tarnished forever.

EMMA CAMPBELL

BIOGRAPHY Emma is a writer/performer with over fifteen years experience in the television and film industry. Her first feature film, The Tenant, has been optioned by Whizbang Films. As an actor, select credits include Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator, the Gemini, Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Human Trafficking, and CBC’s Othello.

SYNOPSiS

Whacked is a half hour dramedy about the female mafia in high school and about two sisters, Michaela and Helena King. On her first day as a senior, Michaela, the second most popular and powerful girl in the school gets this text from her best friend, Cheri Grandini, the MOST popular and powerful girl in the school “ I know what u did. By the end of 2 day so will everyone else”. Michaela knows her and her younger sister Helena’s high school lives are intertwined and because of that she decides to do some-thing she should’ve done a long time ago. Michaela’s going to whack Cherie. She’s going to socially kill the Queenpin of the school.

SYNOPSIS

Elle Adams discovers a family legacy which reveals the existence of Faery, a forgotten realm that runs parallel to our world. Guided by her grandmother’s journal Elle rips open the veil to Faery and travels through the rift, followed by her friends, Ash, Paige, Connar, Dane and Brynna. The young interlopers partake of Faery and by doing so, become Changelings - human-fae hybrids with supernatural abilities. And just in time too, for the teens are stalked by fantastical fae creatures and barely escape with the lives after a deadly battle. Now back in the mortal realm, the Changelings must protect it and them-selves from Fae creatures which emerge from the rift and threaten our very existence.

STEPHANIE TRACEY

BIOGRAPHY Steph Tracey is an emerging poet, novelist, and screenwriter who has a fondness for the unusual. She studied Creative Writing in England for three years, until one day a seagull swooped down and stole the sandwich right out of her hand. It was then she decided she had had enough.

Logl ineSet in 1910s Toronto, during a time of social upheaval, Ladies in Practice is a period drama that follows the first female medical residents in Canada.

SynopsisMargaret Clark, Helen Labelle and Lucy McNally are three women from completely different backgrounds, but they have one thing in common: they are among the first women in Canada training to become doctors. Set to the backdrop of archaic medicine, terrifying surgical instruments and typhoid outbreaks, Ladies in Practice follows these three women as they navigate the tricky social politics of an Edwardian co-ed work environment, rise to challenge of proving themselves capable, and deal with societal expectations of womanhood – all while wielding a scalpel.

TAMARA MOULIN

BIOGRAPHY Tamara Moulin is a television writer based in Toronto. Her recent experience includes interning in the writing rooms of both Flashpoint and Rookie Blue. Tamara was a winner of the 2010 Canwest Global Writer’s Apprentice Program. She interned with a number of unscripted shows and a daily newspaper after graduating from Ryerson’s Radio and Television Arts Program where she was the recipient of the Ross Video Scholarship and the William Harding Memorial Award.

TAMMY MARLOWE JOHNSON

BIOGRAPHY Tammy Marlowe Johnson is a latchkey kid, raised on TV, and thank goodness for that: her life now revolves around procedurals with juicy characters and intrigue and delicious ensemble dramas. Her own procedural series The Mark of Cain is currently in development with CTV, and her IPF-funded web series Verdict will screen at the L.A. Web Series Festival. Before writing for TV, Tammy worked the police and law courts beats as a newspaper reporter. She injects that real-life experience into the imaginary worlds she now embodies.

VINCENT SHIAO

BIOGRAPHY Vince worked in the media and entertainment division of a major audit/consulting firm for many years before joining Alliance Films as a manager in the finance group. Here, he helped tally the earnings of shows such as Mad Men and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation before turning his sights to the more creative end of the business. Since graduating from Western, Vince has been actively involved with LIFT as both a board member and moderator of their Screenwriters’ Circle. He is drawn to characters who face morally ambiguous choices, and exploring the consequences of those choices in the most original and entertaining way possible.
