MondayLiteracyImagine you are Juliet, after Romeo has been banished. You want to send him a poem as a reminder that you still love and believe in him.

Write the letters of Romeo’s name down the side of a page. Then write an acrostic poem (a poem made up of a word or short phrase for each letter). An example is provided below:

Choose a favourite piece of Scripture, then get creative:

Present it as a painting, collage, piece of music, song, even an area of garden or floral display

Take a photo of your finished piece and provide a short summary explaining why this piece of Scripture is your favourite and why you have chosen to present it in this way.

Refresh your memory on different angle types by looking at the PowerPoint titled Tuesday AM Maths Angle Types.

Then attempt the questions titled, Tuesday AM Maths - Measuring to the nearest degree.

If you are struggling to make the paper protractor, you can estimate angles by using a right (i.e. 90⁰) angle to find smaller angles by splitting this angle into halves, thirds etc.

For example, to find 15⁰, halve the 90⁰ angle (your angle should now be 45⁰). Then split the new 45⁰ angle into thirds. (one third of this will be 15⁰)

WednesdayLiteracy

Friar Laurence wrote a letter to Romeo explaining the plan, but it was never delivered. What do you think it said? Write this letter in your own words.

Try to include:

Art/Maths

Create a messy geometric picture. Stick masking tape onto the canvas in a series of intersecting lines of various lengths and at various angles. Now get messy! Splatter the canvas with paint, the more freeform the better. Allow the paint to dry then remove the tape. What shapes have you been left with? What angle types can you find?

Apply your understanding from the angles activity on Tuesday to solve angle problems in different contexts. Just remember to explain your reasoning and provide examples to illustrate your points where appropriate.

Write a poem (that doesn’t rhyme) for the end of the play.It must only be 8 lines long.
