TERM 4 WEEK 8 Tuesday 1st December 2020 Principals Report With Term 4 flying along, we are very pleased to be holding our annual Presentation Day Ceremony. Of course, like everything in 2020, we will be adapting our activities to provide a Covid-safe event for all. While it will be without the usual parent and community audience, we are proud to offer our students the opportunity to be rewarded for their hard work in front of their peers. The program will take place over three days next week, with each Stage holding their own separate Presentation Day ceremony. This is due to the restrictions on how many people are allowed in our School Hall at one time. We will record each stages Presentation Day Ceremony and upload the events on our School Website and Facebook page, so please take the time to watch your childs stage ceremony at home. Last week, very excited students in Stage 1 participated in our annual Science Day. Loads of fun was had judging from the happy faces experimenting with their Science activities. Well done to the students from Stage 1 and thank you to the Stage 1 teachers for organising the day. This week, our Swim and Survive program began. It will run over two weeks, for Years 2, 3 and 4. The Swim and Survive program teaches students how to swim which is an essential life skill and so important as we enter the summer swim season. Thank you to all the families for allowing their children to participate. Keep an eye on our school calendar as we enter the last three weeks of school for 2020. Events are both being planned and booked in, so we can give all our students a great finish to the year. Amongst these are activities for our Year 6 students to give them the wonderful send-off to High School they deserve. ~ Anthony Buckley, Principal TERM 4 SCHOOL CALENDAR DECEMBER 1st Year 6 Orientation at MHS Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 2nd Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 3rd Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 4th Kinder 2021 Playgroup Uniform Orders returned Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 7th Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 Sarzotti Scholarship forms returned to office 8th Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 9th Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 10th Year 6 Farewell Dinner Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 11th Year 6 Bell ringing Swim & Survive Years 2 - 4 P&C Christmas Raffle Draw 15th P&C Meeting 16th Super Day Last Day of Term Expressions of interest are being taken from students who would like to learn a musical instrument in 2021. Student Attendance

When your child attends school every day, learning becomes easier and your child will build and maintain friendships with other children. Parents and carers can help foster positive attendance habits by:

helping their child learn the importance of punctuality and routine

ensuring their child arrives on time from the start of the school day, ready to participate in learning

reducing disruption to learning where possible, by planning any necessary appointments outside of school time

promptly communicating any absence to the school (within 7 days of the first day of any absence)

working with the school to encourage and support regular attendance.
