What does a paramedic do?
• They work outside hospitals (mostly)
• They give medicines and other treatments to
unwell people in emergencies
• They transport patients to hospital
• They work in a team
• They can perform tests to help them figure
out how to treat someone who is unwell
So how do paramedics get to an emergency?
What are the following items called and what do paramedics use them for?

•You will be in 4 teams• When you have been given your team go to the part of the room with that picture• When you hear the whistle – listen! Your mentor will tell you where you go next.

You work as part of a team
• Paramedics help save people’s lives – how are they different from doctors?•They use lots of different equipment to help people – what items can you name?• They use lots of methods of transport to get to an emergency – why do they do this?• They can do tests to find out why someone might be unwell – what tests did you learn about? • You can help! You now know how to do the recovery position and what to look for if someone is injured or unwell.
