Relative pronouns

We use relative pronouns to replace nouns and give more information about them.

who = a person / people

that = a thing / things

where = a place / places

This is Susan . She is a nurse.

This is Susan who is a nurse.

Mr Lam is a teacher. He won the ‘Good Citizen’ award in 2005.

Mr Lam is the teacher who won the ‘Good Citizen’ award in 2005.

Mrs Ho and Mr Brown are teachers. They teach us Maths and English.

Mrs Ho and Mr Brown are the teachers who teach us Maths and English.

This is a food server . People use it to pick up food.

This is the food server that people use to pick up food.

This is a trophy. I won it at the singing contest.

This is the trophy that I won at the singing contest.

This is a hospital . I was born here .

This is the hospital where I was born.

This is a park. I take a walk here every day.This is the park where I take a walk every day.

Join the two sentences together using a suitable relative pronoun.
