Client/ location: Primark

Task: To change out internal LED lightbulbs and spotlight units, above escalators.

Issues: Scaffolding was costly and timely, and would heavily impact the daily operation of the store, at a peak time around Christmas.

Solution: Steel Peaks operated during out of store opening hours, providing IRATA technicians working alongside an electrician.

To gain access, Steel Peaks rigged tension lines in the roof space using beam clamps and ropes, which rope techs could then clip on to, and manoeuvre themselves along.

At the end of each night shift, tension lines could be left in place, ready for the following shift, as they caused no disruption or risk to Primark staff or customers during opening hours.

All operations were carried out with a specific rescue plan, tailored to each task.
