The United States had many heroes like firefighters, para-medics, police officers, and people working there. Many people lost friends, family and people they knew. This was witnessed by the entire world. We hope nothing like this will

ever happen in this continent

and in this world.

And also we hope nothing like

this disaster will happen

because this was a terrible

tragedy.

By María José Saldaña Borja. 2A

10 years ago a terrible disas-ter occurred on the World Trade Center in New York City. The twin towers were located in lower Manhattan. They were used for offices of commerce. There were 110 floors, 43,600 windows, 198 eleva-tors with capacity of 55 per-sons, 71 electric stairs and each day at least 150,000 tourist visited. But on the 11th of Septem-ber terrorism destroyed the towers. More than 2,600 people died and more than 3,000 people were injured. More people from the Pen-tagon in Washington D.C. were killed and injured.

This 15th of September in the

American School of Pachuca

the Student Council organized

a big party in the school. Some

people went dressed as famous

and historic characters of the

independence. When we first

entered school there were a lot

of people doing different

things.

It was boring first because we

had classes from 8 to 12 so we

had to be in classrooms.

A cool thing about this party

was that we could come

dressed with ordinary clothes

and not with the uniforms. The

clothes had to be green white

or red like the flag. In class we

talked about the independence

and a lot of things related to

this important event.

At 12 of clock the people of

the PTA brought chalupas and

pambazos in the school and

you could get whatever you

wanted because it was free.

They were delicious and there

were a lot and there were salsas

and a lot of things to put to

your chalupas. A lot of people

played games and did a lot of

things in the time until the day

finished.

Then at 1 o clock everyone

went home. It was cool.

On September 15th my family and

I went to Mexico. We landed at 6

o’clock. Then we went home, but

in Mexico City the streets are very

full, so we needed 3 hours to get

back to our house! But then when

we were home we went to bed.

On the next day I looked at the

house. I think it is as big as our

house in Germany.

I like it a little bit more than the

one in Germany because I have

my own bathroom.

And I found that I have a bigger

balcony than my brother. I didn’t

wanted to take his room and he

wanted to take my room but I

don’t want to do that. I like my

room.

Our garden in Germany is bigger

than in Mexico. But in the Mexi-

can Garden there are no trees.

In Germany we have many trees:

an apple tree, two other trees (they

are called in Germany

“Pflaumenbäume”), and another

tree called “Trauerweide”.

Our kitchen is as big as that in

Germany but I like the one in

Germany more than the one here.

But Mexico is also a very good

land. I like it.

But South Africa is the best land

where I have been.

Our House

After a while of watching ani-

mals we went to eat at the res-

taurant. On an African Safari

you can eat very healthy food.

We finished eating. We started

to hear it was raining very, very

hard and we had to wait until it

died down.

When the rain went down a little

we had to go to another truck

that took us to our car. After this

long day we went back to the

hotel in Cholula .

The next day my mom had to go

for the last time to the course.

That day my mom got an appre-

ciation of the Royal Ballet.

That day was the day we packed

and went to Puebla to

"Angelopolis", the largest square

in Puebla. After that we went to

Pachuca.

Abril's Vacation

On my vacation I went to Cho-

lula, Puebla. I went there be-

cause my mom had a ballet

course. In that course I met a

friend named Deilany. She is

very, very special, and some

times very bipolar.

In Puebla we went on an African

Safari where a tiger almost

jumped on the truck. When my

brother saw the tiger he was very

excited and started screaming.

can change the world with this class and make the world a bet-ter place to live and do a lot more activities.

By Tamara Rojas Chávez . 2D

Eco Club is a class that you learn all about ecology, but you don’t only use paper and pencil, you also have a lot of fun to help our sweet home, our world. We do a lot of activities to Reuse Reduce & Recycle. For example right now in the last two classes we were paint-ing carton boxes. Those boxes will be for plastic bottles to use the power of the three “R´s”. Other activities: we will make cookies and we will sell them, and with the money we earn, we’ll buy other things to make other fun activities! Eco Club is not only a class it is a special class, that I love be-cause you help the world but not in the usual way, perhaps you do it in a different way, in an original way, a fun way to help our world. So I really hope more kids can come with us to recycle, paint, cook and sell. This class shows you how the world really works and I already said this is a really interesting class, so I hope we

The American School community has always been noted for having excellence as a central objective in the

education of its students. In a bicultural atmosphere that includes both Mexican and foreign staff who

are highly trained and educated, we are at the vanguard of curricular advances in educational theory and

practices that include the use of emerging technology.

This web page is designed to provide information about teachers, students, parents and administrators on

all levels. It also serves as a place to publish admission policies, special programs, and projects as well as

being a point of contact for all members of our school community.

Our students, especially those of the secondary level, enter our page constantly to consult homework as-

signments, to practice and to post work themes from their classes and to preview upcoming topics. Con-

sistent with the knowledge that the use of technology is fundamental for today's world, the computer clas-

ses cover not only the SEP curriculum but also assignments and outside class projects including orienta-

tion and training of all of our personnel.
