STUBAI GLACIERAustria’s largest glacier skiing re-sort is only 45 minutes away from Innsbruck by car. 26 modern cable car facilities and lifts provide access to 36 descents in the Kingdom of Snow, ranging from easy to chal-lenging. With guaranteed snow from October to June, the BIG Family Stubai Glacier offer, the DC Stubai Zoo Snowpark, the Powder Department, the summit platform, and the ice grotto, the Stubai Gla-cier will delight winter sports en-thusiasts and excursionists alike. Recommended highlight: the gour-met restaurant Schaufelspitz, the world’s highest three-toque res-taurant.

KÜHTAISoaring high in the Kühtai – pure skiing pleasures with guaran-teed snow await winter sports enthusiasts in Austria‘s highest skiing resort, Innsbruck’s skiing area at 2,020 metres. Ski right up to your hotel door or the car park. The range of pistes in all de-grees of difficulty ensures most diverse experiences. Families will especially appreciate the wide slopes. Freeskiers and snowboar-ders have their home base at the KPARK Kühtai with the FreeStyle area, SnowCross & SuperPipe, while the KidsPark guarantees action for children and fun park newcomers.

ELFERBAHNEN20 minutes from Innsbruck you will find the Elferbahnen Valley Station. The Elferbahnen offer dreamlike slopes full of natural snow with guaranteed adrenaline for experienced skiers and snow-boarders. Active holidaymakers can explore the winter hiking trails and the largest walk-on sundial in the Alpine region, enjoy snow-shoeing, or go tobogganing on one of the two varied toboggan runs, which are perfectly groomed and illuminated at night and invite one and all to enjoy the toboggan-ing experience.

HOCHOETZ41 kilometres of pistes, ul-tra-modern lifts, guaranteed snow through spring, children’s programme and supervision, two vantage points, top events: the Hochoetz skiing region is a winter paradise for families. The skiing area, which is one of the 5 sunniest in Austria, scores with its manageability and convinces with varied descents and special features such as WIDIs MOVIE-SHUTTLE, WIDIs Funpark, or the wildlife trail.

PATSCHERKOFEL1,674 metres above the city, winter presents its most beau-tiful side on Innsbruck’s local mountain. The Patscherkofel, just a ten-minute drive from Innsbruck, impresses with the new Patscherkofel cable car, a 10-seat mono-cable gondola, and with a wide variety of runs. Family-friendly pistes, challeng-ing terrain, the legendary Olym-pic run, the 15,000 m2 children’s area, and the popular snow park are the hallmarks of the local re-sort.

MUTTERERALMFamily. Experience. Nature. These are the elements that form a snow-white symbiosis across more than 15 km of slopes. First-timers and returning guests feel equally at home on the runs around the summit station, as do families in the children’s area with its fairy-tale forest. Well-trained skiers can explore the pistes to Mutters and Götzens including the Olympic Games re-serve run.

OBERPERFUSS –RANGGER KÖPFLThanks to 17 kilometres of slopes from easy to medium difficulty, the Rangger Köpfl in the immediate vicinity of the Tyrolean capital is the perfect resort for the whole family. The advantages of the ski-ing resort in Oberperfuss are both obvious and abundant: clear rout-ing, guaranteed snow thanks to modern snow-making facilities, Kidspark with magic carpet and practice lift, cosy ski lodges, idyllic winter hiking trails, and a 10 km toboggan run (8 km illuminated).

BERGERALMThe Bergeralm Skiing & Leisure Arena, the skiing resort in the Wipptal, combines top piste quality with cosiness during a stopover and the unique Wipptal panorama. The combined “Hoher Turm” facilities take you comfort-ably to the slopes that received the Tyrolean Piste Quality Award. Thanks to its illumination that is even suitable for competitions, the Bergeralm is one of the larg-est night skiing arenas in Europe. In 2019, the Bergeralm was cho-sen by Skiresort.de as an insider tip in the category “World’s lead-ing skiing resort up to 30 km of pistes”.

GLUNGEZERBAHNThe majestic mountain scenery of the Glungezer, surrounded by untouched nature, the impressi-ve view of the Inn Valley and the peaks of the Nordkette, as well as the magnificent ski pistes for young and older visitors alike were the reasons for the popu-larity of the ski and hiking moun-tain among locals and guests to grow as early as in the 1930s. After extensive modernisation works in the last three years, the Glungezerbahn now shines in a new light: new 10-PAX cable cars, new snow-making systems, and this winter the ultra-modern com-bined lift to the Summit Station.

AXAMER LIZUMWith over 40 km of pistes and 10 lifts, the Axamer Lizum is the lar-gest skiing resort in the vicinity of Innsbruck. Slopes of varying degrees of difficulty guarantee plenty of snow adventures for the whole family. Freestylers will find cool obstacles in the Golden Roof Funpark while freeriders can look forward to countless powder runs around the Kalkkögel Summits. The high alpine location ensures snow from the end of November to mid-April. Guests are pam-pered with culinary treats in the Hoadl-Haus Panorama Restau-rant with sun terrace at 2,340 m.

NORDKETTENBAHNENINNSBRUCKJust a few steps away from the historic old town, the modern cable car whose station was designed by Zaha Hadid takes you to the Nordkette skiing re-sort. From the jewel of the Alps you have a 360° view of Inns-bruck, Austria’s largest nature park, the Karwendel, and the entire Nordkette offer: 6 pistes, numerous freeride variants, the world’s only in-city snowpark “Nordkette Skylinepark” and a children’s area including super-vision. The literal highlight of the excursion is the TOP OF INNS-BRUCK venue at the Hafelekar.

SCHLICK 2000SKIING CENTREThe Schlick 2000 skiing centre is known as a family skiing resort with 9 rustic lodges and alpine pastures, where Tyrolean hos-pitality and top piste quality are the top priorities. In BIG Ron’s Kinderland, children learn how to ski in a playful way, and in the playing and warm-up room the little ones are looked after from age one onwards. Adrenaline junkies are drawn to the Stu-bai Park Schlick 2000. A speed course and the height profile measurement Skiline spark ad-ditional ambition.

SERLESBAHNENIn the Serlesbahnen resort in Mieders, families, beginners, and returning skiers will find what they are looking for: easy, blue pistes where they can learn to ski or enjoy extensive slopes after a longer break. The Kinder-land with its magic carpet and platter lift is ideally located di-rectly at the Valley Station. The skiing resort also offers winter hiking, snowshoe hiking, and tobogganing – in a nutshell: as many mountain experiences as you like.

PISTE MAINTENANCE SERVICEAll open pistes are prepared every night, and if snow falls in the morning once more. Preparing the pistes while they are in operation involves the risk of skiers colliding with the snow groomers. During the day, only trips that are “inevita-ble” are permitted. Retrospective preparation is not part of this category. Please pay attention to the warning lights and horn of the snow groomer and stay at a safe distance from it. In the event of fresh snow during the day, mounds could form; we apologise for any inconvenience.

CABLE WINCH PREPARATIONSome pistes are prepared using a cable winch. That means that the cable which hoists the snow groomer, crosses the piste. Please pay attention to areas which are cordoned off. The ski pistes are mostly closed daily from 04.30 pm to 08.00 am. During this period there is no hazard protection! There is a risk of injury due to the piste preparation using snow groomers, snow cannons, lane grooves, winch ca-bles, free cables, and pipes of the snow-making machinery. Please observe display panels and signs at the respective akiing areas, especially at night rides.
