Aktuell ASIA * Who we are

Aktuell ASIA is a German language business magazine that reports about Asian economics and politics on a monthly basis. Focus is on in depth first hand information about Asia from an Asian/European perspective. The magazine is published in high quality print and is an excellent platform for reputable advertisers. Published since 1996 Aktuell Asia has a widespread circulation and is well known and respected with executives in Asia and Europe.

The roots of Aktuell ASIA date back to 1995, when Frank Delano and Ralph Kugler founded the black and white bi-monthly magazine „Phuket aktuell” on the tropical island of Phuket. It evolved swiftly in numerous steps and was only 4 years later, in 1999, printed as “Thai-land aktuell” in Bangkok with 112 pages, full colour and as a monthly magazine. In 2003 and 2004 the magazines “Singapur aktuell” and “China aktuell” followed. Also in 2003 The Aktuell Publishing Com-pany in Wilmington, Delaware was formed as holder and responsible copyright owner of the trademarks of Aktuell ASIA, Aktuell Singapore, Aktuell China and Aktuell Thailand. Since 2005 the magazine Aktuell ASIA was published monthly under license of The Aktuell Publishing Company with Aktuell Publishing Pte Ltd in Singapore where it was also printed after the political coup in Thailand in September 2007 with its wide reaching implications on press freedom and publishing made it impossible to continue the publication in Thailand. In De-cember 2007 content provider toobiz.com joined forces with Aktuell ASIA and started with a news and information webpage “Aktuell ASIA Online” which covers daily news as well as in depth articles about Asian economic and political issues in German language. In August 2008 Aktuell Publishing Pte Ltd and The Aktuell Publishing Company agreed mutually to retire the license for the printed issue of “Aktuell ASIA” back to the license holder. In September 2008 the Abund Pte Ltd media corporation and The Aktuell Publishing Company agreed on a license contract for the printing and publishing of the magazine Aktuell ASIA which will be distributed and published to a further enhanced readership of business professionals in Europe and Asia. Abund Pte Ltd will accomplish this task together with partners in certain countries like China, Thailand, Singapore, India and Germany.

A. Layout

All prices for advertisements are based on finalized artwork delivered on CD or electronically according to the publishers specifications by the advertiser. If the advertisement has to be translated, created, altered or resized by the publisher, we charge for translation and/or creation. Special colours, which are not covered in the 4 colour spectrum will be charged at +25 % of the advertising price for a full pageadvertisement for each extra colour. Originals are returned upon request. If the advertiser insists on ad-ditional digital or wet proof before publication the cost will be billed to the advertiser. The proof can only be arranged during the normal production schedule.

B. Placement

If the ad should be placed on a special page or special position a surcharge applies. Special placements are sections of the newspaper, right side/left side and top/bottom. The publisher is not liable if an adver-tisement is not printed or has not the correct placement.

C. Payment

All prices in this pricelist do not include applicable government taxes. The payment has to arrive by cheque or transfer before or at the agreed payment date according to the contract but latest 15 days before the publishing month of the booked edition or in case of a package in full 15 days before the pub-lishing month of the first booked edition. Cancellation fee is 50 % of the price of the advertisement and the advertisement will not be printed. The advertisement cannot be cancelled after the deadline before the publishing date is expired. In this case 100 % of the advertisement price is charged.

D. General

The publisher reserves the right to refuse to print an ad containing false contents or which is offensive, not in alignment with the standard of the paper or violating laws in the countries where the magazine is distributed. In this case the payment will be refunded. The publisher is not liable if an advertisement is not printed or has not the right placement. The publisher is not liable if payment for an advertisement was made to somebody not authorized by the publisher. Confirmation can be obtained from one of our offices.

We accept your finished artwork for advertisements only in these file formats:

Target Resolution should be not less than 300 dpi. Please make sure to use the right size for your artwork as we cannot resize your original artwork without distorting the content. The publisher will not be liable if an artwork appears not as intended due to the wrong artwork size.

The artwork has to arrive prior to the artwork deadline in one of our offices. It can be send electronically via email or by using our ftp-server.

F. Legal Terms

Applicable Law is Frankfurt/Main.

G. Validity

All prices and numbers in this pricelist are valid of 01.01.2009 and may change without further notice.
