Besides millions of chairs, we have sold over 200,000 footrests worldwide. The number of footrest units sold increases every year again. Score saddle seats can now be found in a variety of workplaces. In the beginning, mainly dentists and hairdressers used the saddle seats. Today, the Jumper and the Amazone are being used in hospitals, behind counters and checkouts and behind workbenches and conveyors in industry.

As an environmentally friendly replacement for our antibacterial upholstery, we are introducing PUxx, a PVC-free material that is ideal for medical environments. It makes us proud that the choice for PUxx upholstery is allowing us to make a contribution towards a sustainable environment.

The 360° Support arm/backrest for the Jumper and Amazone saddle seats as well as for the Medical Line is also new. Our Product Development team strives to ensure constant innovation - even for our existing products. That sits very well indeed.

Choosing the right chairThe right chair for you depends on your work evironment, personal preferences and budget. First of all, a good chair should be able to swivel. It is also of importance that the height of the seat, backrest, armrests and footrest are adjustable. The base ought to have at least 5 feet and the seat should be virtually flat, with a light, evenly curved backrest to provide support to the lumbar region.

It is important that the lower leg makes an angle of at least 90˚ towards the upper leg. You need a footrest if your feet do not touch the ground.

Since the arms represent about 10% of our total body weight, it is important that they are properly supported. Where the work situation allows, armrests are always recommended. Score armrests are short so that the chair can be moved very close to the work surface. Nearly all Score armrests can be adjusted in height and width.

For people with long legs, a flat seat is very easy to provide with a seat slider. The seat slider will enlarge the seat depth with max. 7 cm.

Upholstery and CastorsThe choice of upholstery depends to a large extend on your work environment. An upholstered chair is the most comfortable and is preferred wherever possible. If you work in a dusty or dirty environment Score offers a choice in Polyurethane, Beech or Leatherette. Score’s choice in upholstery is Trevira, Wool, Leatherette, Stamskin and PUxx. The colours and characteristics of all types of upholstery and materials are to be found in the back of the catalogue. We can also upholster the chair with fabrics of your choice, supplied by you.

For safety reasons, mobile chairs are supplied with brake unloaded swivel castors. When you stand up, the chair does not roll away. Chairs with brake loaded swivel castors lock when you sit on them. For hard floors we recommend polyurethane (soft) castors. Hard castors can be used on soft floors such as carpet.

ESD/CleanroomThe friction of plastic castors, on synthetic floor coverings generates static electricity. With an ordinary chair, this may be discharged through the product or user, who experiences small but unpleasant shocks. ESD chairs and related products are made completely conductive, which means the static electricity is discharged straight to the floor. ESD chairs are therefore indispensable in the production and assembly of electronic components, as static discharge on components might lead to considerable damages. For cleanroom areas the cleanroom chairs of Score are the perfect solution! The chairs are available in Leatherette or Polyurethane and are also ESD protected.
