Price Cut promotions A price cut is applied to promote a reduced selling price of a single item in store or online. In addition to calling out the great price on a yellow background, the previous price(s) are also printed to show the customer the savings. Price established for same duration as promotion (1:1 rule). Minimum number of days price establishment: 14 fresh, 21 grocery, 28 GM and F&F. Prices must not be artificially inflated. Established in 30% or more stores where promoting. - PE in Express & Metro can be inherited from Superstores & Extras but only at the main estate price. Significant in-season sales during establishment period. Not in any promotion or multibuy during establishment period. Exactly the same product. - Variants must all be the same price and price established. No recommended retail price (RRP) establishment process. Pre-promotion Cannot extend running promotions. Cannot cancel once running. All types of offers affect price establishment. - PE does not increment during a promotion, PE restarts from zero once the promotion ends. - Bar NoPOS. Promotion price can go deeper in the promotion period - Was/Then/Now price must be displayed and follow 1:1 price establishment. If multiple ‘then’ prices, last one displayed along with original ‘was’. No price changes during any NoPOS promotion. In running No back to back promotions. - Bar NoPOS. Can move immediately to X for £Y; not further price cut or X for Y. BOGOF and BOGOF C/F – all products must be price established, regardless of promotion length.

Short term promotions: small product groups need all to be price established; large product groups need half or more price established

Long term promotions (way to buy) – half or more of the products must be price established regardless of the number of products

Pre-promotionCannot extend a running promotion.

RSP cannot change for promotions against small groups.

- This breaks price establishment.

RSP can change for: short term promotions against large groups; or any long term promotions.

- Minimum saving and half or more products to hold price establishment.

Products can be added (but not deleted) during running promotions.
