OUR INVESTMENTS

THE FACTORY OF 21st CENTURY ENGINEERS

The new building of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

provides 8500 sq. meters and over 55000 cubic meters of

teaching and research space. It is expected that 5000 students

will be able to take advantage of the new infrastructure within

the first five years of its opening.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTER

The building of over 4500 sq. m. houses 23 highly-specialized

teaching laboratories in the broad field of computer science.

Students may also take advantage of a 3D screening room,

4 videoconferencing rooms facilitating participation in

international projects and a number of rooms for smaller teams.

OUR INVESTMENTS

THE FACULTY OF PROCESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL

ENGINEERING

The new four-story building houses 19 modern

laboratories (i.e. laboratories of nanotechnology and

hydrogen energy, industrial process safety, clean

technologies and applied photochemistry) available for

teaching and advanced research.

RENOVATED BUILDINGS OF 19th C. FACTORIES now used

by the Faculty of Technical Physics, Computer Science and

Applied Mathematics. Students may take advantage of

4 lecture-halls, 13 laboratories, IT and project rooms,

student work space.

OUR INVESTMENTS

SPORTS BAY – ZATOKA SPORTU

is one of the most modern sports facilities in Poland:

- 50-metre olimpic pool,

- 30-metre moving floor pool,

- 17-metre climbing wall (one of the highest in

Poland),

- fitness center,

- entertainment and sports hall,

- outdoor fields for team games and endurance sports,

- training rooms.

ALCHEMIUM – THE MAGIC OF TOMORROW’S

CHEMISTRY

The compound will be comprised of two structures:

the conference and teaching centre, and the laboratory

and teaching facility.

The laboratory and teaching facility will have five above-

ground floors and one below-ground floor.

The 16 616 m2 of the Alchemium floor area will

accommodate 124 conference, laboratory and teaching

rooms including a ceremonial hall for 500 guests.

EXPLORE THE PLANET MARS WITH A MARS ROVER

Student group the RAPTORS have built the first Mars

rover in Łódź. The team have many an international

success under their belt, one of them being two

awards the Raptors brought home having competed

in the Spanish European Robotic League Emergency

2019.

A SOLAR POWERED CAR

The Lodz Solar Team is a group of young talented

engineers with a great zest for automotive and green

technologies that has inspired their pet project

- a solar car that now goes by the name Eagle Two.

In 2018, the team won world championship in the

iLumen European Solar Challenge in the Cruiser

category during a 24-hour race on Formula 1 circuit.

BURSTING WITH ENERGY

SUPPER EFFICIENT VEHICLE

IRON WARRIORS team members have built Eco Arrow

- a vehicle that travelled 837 km on the equivalent of

one liter of fuel or 1kWh of electricity and set a Polish

record.

The Iron Warriors, who were the only representatives

of Poland, took 5th place in the 42nd ultra energy

efficient vehicle competition held in Pisaralla

pisimmälle in Finland in 2019.

Students implementing the GUST project have

designed and built a wind turbine suitable for

adaptation in urban areas. For a few years now,

International Small Wind Turbine Contest

INTERNATIONAL FACULTYOF ENGINEERING

▪ European Project Semester (EPS) under which

students of various engineering and business

programmes work in teams on multidisciplinary

projects. These projects are carefully selected

to match their specialities and capabilities as well

as to develop their intercultural communication and

teamwork skills.

▪ Mobility Semester for all third-year students giving

them the opportunity to study at more than 180

universities in 26 countries under the Erasmus

programme. The Faculty also accepts annually about

450 students from universities across Europe.

DUAL STUDIES

▪ Practical education means as many as 864 hours

of paid internship each academic year and

practical courses taught by business practitioners.

▪ Cost-free study visits abroad and summer schools

are also included in the curriculum, some of

which provide the opportunity to participate in

free training ending with certification exams.

ACADEMIC SPORTS ASSOCIATION

▪ Academic Sports Association has 40 sections.

They are, among others, basketball, volleyball,

table tennis, tennis, judo, karate, skiing,

snowboarding, bridge and chess. All sections take

part in academic leagues and in university

championships where we win many medals.

2018 Floorball World University Championship

and Cheerleading World University Championship

whereas in 2019, Badminton World University
