In her own words, hear how Rena Finder was only 11
when the Nazis forced her and her family – along with
all the other Jewish families – into the ghetto in Krakow,
Poland. Rena worked as a slave laborer with scarcely any
food and watched as friends and family were sent away.
Then she and her mother ended up working for Oskar
Schindler, a German businessman who employed Jewish
prisoners in his factory and kept them fed and healthy. But
her nightmares were not over. She and her mother were
deported to the concentration camp Auschwitz. With great
cunning, it was Schindler who set out to help them escape.

Baby sharks are toothless at first, right? That’s a LIE!
The TRUTH is, sharks are born with a mouthful of teeth
to protect themselves and hunt right away. In a unique
question-and-answer format, readers are quizzed
about their favorite ocean predators to see if they can
separate facts from “lies.” The book’s mascot – the
Truth Sleuth – guides readers through this funny and
fact-packed title, filled with photos of sharks in action,
as well as kid-appealing art and humor.

Berlin, November 1943. With bombing raids commencing, the city
is blanketed by explosions. Siblings Gerta and Max Hoffmann live
a surprisingly carefree childhood amid the raids. But one night,
the air raid sirens wail, and the Hoffmanns’ neighborhood is hit. A
mortally wounded man comes to their door, begging to be let in.
He asks for Karl Hoffmann, their father. Gerta and Max watch as
Karl tries in vain to save the man’s life. Before he dies, the stranger
gives their father a bloodstained packet of documents, along with
a message: “For the sake of humanity, the Führer must die. Finish
it, Karl!” Based on real events, this is the story of two children
swept up in a fight for the soul of Germany – and the world.
