  • The Importance of Product Labels

We all know the importance of product labels, but as a brief reminder

Product labeling makes your pitch tocustomers, so it needs to be attractive

Product labeling displays informationrequired by government and industryregulations, so it must be accurate- Specifically, products must have the

product name, contact information forthe manufacturer or responsible party, a list of ingredients, allergen warnings(when appropriate) and a net quantity

Having a label with missing or incorrectinformation is often sufficient grounds for a product recall

«The cameras used by the CI-Vision system are quite amazing. It can show us a twisted label, a missing label, a damaged label, verify the UPCE code, the shape of a jar, the color of the product, the cap code being properly applied in full...just about anything that we can teach the system to detect for us.»

  • How can Vision Inspection help you?

A label mix-up increases costs for rework, or potentially damages the brand!

    21

The cost depends on where the wrongly labeled product is discovered:

At the factory (before shipping) the package requires rework

During distribution, there are additional recovery costs

At the retailer, contracts may include penalty clauses (fee, cost of return of products, administration, damages)

In the consumer hands there can be a RECALL and damages to the brand

At every step, every individual has the opportunity to interact with the brand and spread good or bad news about it.
