The criminal case against the claimants fell apart in court when a judge threw out the charges. The lawsuit, filed June 29 in federal district court at Indianapolis, alleges false arrest. Dollard says his Noblesville law practice was ruined. As a result he moved to Florida last year to work in a firm there, but has recently returned to Hamilton County. The suit seeks unspecified damages, but asks for "all relief allowable by law, including compensatory and punitive damages, costs and attorney fees." The court action stems from a raid on the DORN clinic in downtown Carmel. A drug task force involved in the raid called the clinic a "pill mill," but it was advertised as a facility to assist addicts to recover from drug addiction. Dr. Larry Ley operated the clinic where the lawsuit says "physicians re- quired patients to comply with a signed treatment contract by actively participat- ing in counseling, seeking employment and submitting to random urinary drug screens" in order to be certain they were staying off addictive drugs and using medically prescribed Suboxone which is a drug specifically designed to end de- pendency. Joining Dollard in the lawsuit are Cassy Bratcher, Felicia Reid, Derek Tis- low, Yvonne Morgan, Joseph Mackey, Jessica Callahan, and Eric Ley. Bratcher and Reid are Hamilton County residents. They were all employed or in some manner associated with the clinic. Charges against all have been dismissed. Named as defendants in the suit are the City of Carmel, City of Kokomo, Howard County, Hendricks County, Johnson County and the Town of Cumberland. All the jurisdictions had authorities involved in either the Carmel raid, or simultaneous raids in other loca- tions. Adidas Invitational is under way By RICHIE HALL Reporter Sports Editor The state that is world famous for bas- ketball is hosting some of the best young players in the United States this week. The 2016 adidas Invitational is taking place at various sites in Indianapolis and Hamilton County. A total of 290 teams in seven divisions and four age groups are participating. County sites for the invita- tional are the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club, Noblesville West Middle School, Best Choice Fieldhouse in Fishers, Carmel High School and Carmel Clay Middle School. (Warren Central, North Central and Northview Middle School are the Indianap- olis sites.) Games began Wednesday evening at three of the above-mentioned locations, in- cluding Carmel High School and the Field- house. The games featured the two oldest age groups, 11th Grade (17U) and 10th Grade (16U). Carmel High is providing four courts for the games, and Greyhounds coach Scott Heady, the site director at CHS, was on hand to help out. "We're a host site, so our responsibility is just to have the facility ready and set up, and then just be here to kind of help out the people that actually are running the tourna- ment, which is Indiana Elite," said Heady. "It's an adidas-sponsored Indiana Elite tour- nament." The Invitational will be busy starting this morning, as games begin at all eight sites. The Noblesville Boys & Girls Club will host games that involve the 9th Grade (15U) teams, in addition to the 10th and 11th Grade squads. NWMS will be exclu- sively hosting the 8th Grade (14U teams). The Fieldhouse will again be the site of all 11th Grade games, with the two Carmel schools hosting the 10th Grade games. Be sure to read The Reporter this week for coverage of the Invitational.
