Grenzen verleggen, door verder te gaan waar

anderen stoppen. Deze grenzen heeft EeStairs

internationaal de afgelopen jaren behoorlijk

verlegd, met vestigingen in o.a. Engeland,

Noord-Amerika en Frankrijk. En nu wordt EeStairs

in België verwelkomt: sinds april 2012 is EeStairs

België een feit.

Sinds de opriSinds de oprichting in 2000 heeft EeStairs de

ambitie om tot de beste te behoren op het gebied

van trappen. Nationaal en internationaal. Vanaf

2007 heeft EeStairs de wens om ook actief op de

Belgische markt aanwezig te willen zijn. De inter-

esse voor deze markt komt voort uit verschillende

factoren. Zo spreekt men (bijna) dezelfde taal en

is is België erg dichtbij. Daarnaast is er veel belangs-

telling voor ons product, echter is er een grote

voorkeur om met lokale mensen zaken te doen.

Daarom opereert EeStairs vanuit het principe

“Think Global, Act Local”.

Om uit te zoeken of een vestiging in België haal-

baar is, heeft EeStairs in 2011 een marktonder-

zoek laten verrichten. Daarnaast is er ook gezocht

naar de juiste potentiele partners. Zo zijn wij met

Mark Geerts in aanraking gekomen en is uitein-

delijke besloten tot de oprichting van EeStairs BE

bvba. Vanaf heden zullen alle contacten voor de

Belgische markt, inclusief de 1m2, via Mark

verlopen.

Wie is Mark Geerts?

Mark verteld het zo:

We schrijven ergens november vorig jaar, als ik een telefoontje krijg van een

zakenrelatie/vriend waarin EeStairs aan me wordt voorgesteld en waarin ik word

uitgenodigd na te denken om dit bedrijf in België op te starten.

In die periode had ik net bepaald dat de doelstelling In die periode had ik net bepaald dat de doelstelling voor 2012 voor mijn onderne-

ming Box d'aparto (since 2009) zou zijn om volledig te focussen op online verkoop

en tegen najaar 2012 de webstore Boxdaparto te lanceren. Een plan waar ik de

hele maand december op gefocust was, maar toch was daar steeds de sluimer-

ende nieuwsgierigheid naar hoe EeStairs een plaats zou kunnen vinden in mijn

businessplan. Daarom reed ik eind december naar Barneveld voor een eerste

ontmoeting met Cornelis bij EeStairs.

De rest is geschiedenis. Inmiddels is de vennootschap opgericht en ligt de focus

volledig op het behalen van de eerste order en meer nog het zo spoedig mogelijk

behalen van onze kritische omzet. En dan verder. EeStairs Be wil het fraai

uitgeschreven imago en de reputatie die het moederbedrijf heeft op zijn thuis-

markt en recent ook buiten de eigen landsgrenzen, denk maar aan Engeland,

Noord Amerika en Frankrijk, ook in België verder dragen.

Ook in mijn privé omgeving begint men door te hebben dat de focus vandaag op

'For Beauty Between Levels' ligt. Zo weet mijn vrouw (Anneleen / kleuterjuf) dat ik

binnen EeStairs kan werken met een goede mix van mensen, wensen, plannen,

vormen, materialen, marge, budget en ambitie. En dan weet ze dat het goed is. Al

vragen mijn zoons (Viktor 8 en Anton 7 jr.) zich af wanneer papa nu eens het

nieuwe kantoor zal laten zien (Als het klaar is, jongens).

Met dank aan de Met dank aan de voorjaarszon hoor je zelfs mijn sportvrienden nog niet klagen. Al

kijk ik er wel naar uit om weer eens een tennisballetje te plaatsen of kilometers te

malen op de koersfiets langs dijken en velden. Of, als dat niet lukt, een dagje te

zeilen met de 'vierzeventig'.

Ik heb er nu echter een passie bij. EeStairs BE bvba is een feit. Wat zijn de

verwachtingen? Onze eigen verwachtingen overtreffen!

Green Salad Food Factory

EeStairs UK supplied large external spiral staircases, a stainless steel feature spiral and a stun-

ning double flight helical entrance stair for Kanes Food's 100,000 ft2 factory in Worcestershire.

The opening was attended by botanist James Wong, who laid the final turf on the roof after

completing his duties as guest speaker.

The internal stainless steel staircases are finished in a satin polish with gently curving balus-

ters supporting mid-rails. In keeping with Kanes' green credentials the treads are natural

bamboo, an endlessly renewable source due to its fast growth and extensive root system

meaning replanting is not necessary.

The curved roof at Kanes Foods is covered in grass and native wild flowers which is designed

to blend in with the surrounding Cotswold Hills whilst controlling building temperature. The

building also uses solar panels to heat water and produce electricity for the plant.
