Xicon. We grow economies. Press Release February 27, 2015 Statement regarding Termination of Xicon Economics, Port Consultant, City of Jacksonville  "Xicon Economics was retained to conduct econometric analyses regarding the financial and economic feasibility of  deepening the St. Johns River. After a thorough investigation by the principal researcher for the study, Xicon Economics delivered electronic and bound copies to the City and explained its analyses, after which Dr. Barber was told he was terminated, effective immediately (February 26, 2015). In so doing, the City expressed its appreciation of  Dr. Barber and his work; and stated that he would be paid in full for his services because he had fulfilled his contractual obligations to the City, in full. Clearly the “termination” resulted from religious (Biblical) statements Dr. Barber made in his 2012 book, FallofaNation, a book that paralleled the demise of  the US to the demise of  the Israelites   who sold out to government and subsequently ushered in 430 years of  slavery for God's people. Immediately prior to termination, only a single (1) copy of  Dr. Barber’s book had been sold across the entire world over the course of  the contract Xicon Economics had with the City. Expressed more definitively, out of  a world population of  7.3 billion persons, one (1) purchase was made. One. Obviously, it can be readily concluded that illadvised decisions were rendered by Mayor Brown, City Council, Office of  Economic Development, reporters, bloggers, and others without having ever read works published by Dr. Barber, outside of  a few statements posted without context by persons bent on destroying Christianity; which as a point in fact, had nothing to do with the scientific study Dr. Barber conducted for the City. In any regard, the study conducted by Dr. Barber stands on its own merit   for all to critique. If  Mayor Brown, for example, feels intellectually competent to critique Dr. Barber’s work, then by all means, he should critique Dr. Barber’s work, providing sound econometric analyses to support his critique. With no doubt, this unwarranted termination violated Dr. Barber's freedom of  speech, not to mention his freedom to express his religious beliefs... and other civil liberties. Sadly, the termination only offered credence to the central thesis of  Dr. Barber's book." o portion of this Press Release may be distributed or printed out of its entirety.
