The colour palette is mainly inspired by chill shades of snow and ice – and as ever at Gudrun, the focus is on sus- tainable materials. ”The winter landscape is adorned with an abundance of organic patterns that never fail to amaze me in all their diversity. Snowflakes, ice, and all things frosted and frozen in the natural world combined with local textile heritage and patterns provided the inspiration for our new winter collection. I knew straight away that these patterns had to be shown in their rightful setting, so the famous Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi in the far north of Sweden was chosen as the perfect backdrop for this season’s photoshoot and publicity”, says Gudrun Sjödén, Founder and Creative Director. ARCTIC – ORGANIC AND COSY – IN HARMONY WITH NATURE In this range – consisting of a cardigan, top, dress and leggings plus various wintry acces- sories, we mixed materials such as organic cotton and lambswool knits with softest jersey in cotton and modal. The patterns on the “Arktis”, “Smilla”, “Inuit” and “Alaska” styles evoke landscapes where people have lived in harmony with nature for generations. Lights play with darks in shades ranging from cool ice blue to the warm pinky-red shades of the sunset and the powerful black of the polar night. STRIPED & ROSY – WOOL & ECO-COTTON LAYERING Go for our layered look – so warm and cosy when the north wind sets in and the frost sparkles! For this mini-collection of knitwear in soft woollen blends we mix wide block stripes with narrow multistripes and whirling roses. Two cardigans, a textured sweater knitted from felted wool, a skirt and a dress, all beautifully combined in colourways of cranberry/rosehip, indigo/juniper blue and black/natural grey. DARK AND MOODY – FINE STRIPES AND TINY DOTS This muted little collection is all the more dear to my heart. We really went to town here in terms of textile techniques, experimenting with tiny cross-dyed dots, pointelle, asym- metrical tailoring and other delicate detailing. The shades are kept in earth grey, dark bark, clay brown and rich Dala red. The mini-collection includes a blouse, tunic, cardigan, dotted pants, a striped skirt and a winter sweater in cosy alpaca. BASIC This winter’s essentials range includes all Gudrun’s plain and simple everyday basics in a wide range of shades. We have essential pants, through knit cardigans to heaps of tops and sweaters. All in select natural fabrics, including many styles in organic cotton. Essential- range styles from Gudrun Sjödén are easy to mix and match, and work year-in-year-out as lasting wardrobe favourites.
