The National Collegiate Open Wrestling Championship is a collegiate wrestling event that serves as a post-season championship for NCAA Division-I athletes that are not wrestling in their school's national qualifying tournament. Three USMAPS Wrestlers earned All-American honors. For their weight class, Corey Shie took 3rd at 141 lbs., JT Brown took 4th at 197 lbs., and Tyler Wetzel took 6th at 133 lbs. This is the most All-Americans for USMAPS Wrestling in a single year (only others were two in 2016 and one last year). The purpose of the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) is to prepare candidates selected by the United States Military Academy Admission's office for the academic, physical, and military challenges of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Selected students (Cadet Candidates) are high school graduates or enlisted personnel from the Active, Reserve or National Guard force.
