Belleville, Ontario
QuinteVation, a regional entrepreneurial development initiative, will benefit from an investment
announced today in Belleville Ontario by the Northumberland CFDC and Kim Rudd, Member of
Parliament for Northumberland-Peterborough South; Neil Ellis Member of Parliament for Bay of
Quinte; and Mike Bossio Member of Parliament for Hastings—Lennox and Addington.
The Northumberland CFDC is pleased to provide support for QuinteVation with an investment
of $125,000 under the Eastern Ontario Development Program’s Collaborative Economic
Development Projects stream with a total project cost of up to $250,000. The funding investment
will result in the creation of four new full-time positions which will benefit Eastern Ontario.
QuinteVation is comprised of entrepreneurs serving entrepreneurs, with the goal of helping to
unite and position the Bay of Quinte region as a hub of entrepreneurial spirit, thinking and
action.
Working with multiple established partners, QuinteVation will add to the creation and continued
development of a culture of innovation and business growth with particular emphasis on
identifying and scaling cluster development of the agri-food, film and craft beverages sectors. In
addition, the organization will locally pilot the “RevUp Accelerator” program which focuses on
working with high-growth potential companies in Eastern Ontario by providing planning,
mentorship and training.
The Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)’s Eastern
Ontario Development Program (EODP) advances economic development in rural Eastern
Ontario. Through EODP, FedDev Ontario is collaborating with Community Futures
Development Corporations (CFDCs) in Eastern Ontario to promote the growth of new and
existing businesses in rural communities.

Quotes
“I’m excited today to be a part of the funding of a new economic engine for Eastern Ontario.
QuinteVation aims to support a collaborative agenda of innovation, innovators, and
entrepreneurship across the Quinte Region. I applaud the efforts of QuinteVation’s board, led by
Ryan Williams, and management team as they work to positively impact the economy of all of
the communities in this area.”
-Kim Rudd, Parliamentary, Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and Member of
Parliament for Northumberland−Peterborough South
“It is an exciting time to be announcing the launch of QuinteVation. As a new agency that strives
to encourage and foster innovation and serves to support entrepreneurs, the timing could not be
better. With a new technology cluster emerging in the Bay of Quinte, the dedicated professionals
at QuinteVation will be an invaluable resource to these new start-up companies as they create
good-paying local jobs and position themselves to compete in the global economy through
innovation and technological advances.”
-Neil Ellis, Member of Parliament for Bay of Quinte
“Today’s investment in QuinteVation helps further the innovative and entrepreneurial culture
that exists in the Bay of Quinte Region. Eastern Ontario has many geographic benefits, we
are central to three major cities in Canada, we have access to rail, water and air transportation
and our cost of doing business is low relative to surrounding areas. The work QuinteVation does
in the region will help accelerate growth in the region and continue to advance business
opportunities for growth in Eastern Ontario.”
-Mike Bossio Member of Parliament for Hastings—Lennox and Addington
“Entrepreneurs think in terms of opportunities, innovation and new value creation. We look
forward to the business expansion results as QuinteVation’s “entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs”
takes flight.”
