Brighton’s Of Empires have launched a video for new song ‘Baby Darlin’ Sugar’, taken from their forthcoming EP and marks the band’s first new music since signing with Metropolis Music Publishing in 2015.

The song, which recently debuted on Radio 1’s BBC Introducing Show, was recorded at the legendary Metropolis Studios with producer Ian Davenport (Band of Skulls, Gaz Coombes), the track and EP is also mixed by Ian Dowling (Catfish and the Bottlemen).

The documentary style video that couples the track, features footage shot over a year by the band’s creative collaborator, Josh Fletcher, and follows the Brighton band from the very beginning of the writing process, right through to recording in the studio.

The EP is a return for the band following a successful year after being crowned MTV Brand New Unsigned Winners 2015, playing to a full house at last year’s Great Escape Festival, in which they were named a highlight by the festival organisers and providing tour support to the legendary Adam Ant.

OE will kick off festival season this year with a headline appearance at the Newhaven Festival of Sound Rock Night on 7th May and 2 showcase gigs (TBA) during The Great Escape Festival weekend in Brighton.
