Urban Elegance DTE 1 OF 1 THE NBA’S DETROIT PISTONS’ BEN GORDON GIVES BACK TO THE FAMILIES IN NEED THIS HOLIDAY SEASON BENEFITTING DTE ENERGY TO PROVIDE UTILITIES FOR LESS FORTUNATE FAMILIES DETROIT, MI – December 23, 2010 – An NBA prized player, Ben Gordon of the Detroit Pistons shows holiday spirit this Christmas by donating $13,000 to DTE Energy. During this season of giving, Ben's influence has motioned the City of Detroit to match his donation. A total of $26,000 will be donated to DTE to pay December utility bills for families who need a helping hand this Christmas. In conjunction with the Mayor’s office, the families demonstrating the highest need will be selected to receive donations. The official check was given to Dr. Shenetta Coleman, director of human services for the City of Detroit before the Dec 19th game. Gordon is also donating $2000 to the DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan Snowpile Program. Additionally, Gordon will be visiting the hospital on 1/6 or 1/11 of the New Year. Ben Gordon is an avid supporter of philanthropic programs. He is also involved with Make a Wish foundation.
