They formed under the name “I Am No One” in 2006 and released their debut album worldwide digitally and independently in the same year. In March 2007, they played their debut gig at Madame JoJo’s to a sell out crowd. Following a name change to “Cryogenica” in 2008 and a performance at the Black Planet club, they were nominated for a NME Indy Award in the ‘Best Alternative Category’. In 2009, they released “Redux”, an EP of reworked versions of songs from their debut album. ReGen magazine described this EP as evolving their “previous sound into something with more substance and distinctiveness” and it received positive reviews in Sphere and Devolution magazines. In 2010 they released “Re Animation” which Nocturnal Magazine (2010) described as possessing “a truly unique sound” and “one hell of a calling card”. They independently remastered and rereleased their debut album in 2012. Cryogenica have regularly performed at Electrowerkz, The Underworld, and The Purple Turtle, supporting bands such as Sigue Sigue Sputnik and Sheep on Drugs. They have also supported Das Ich and Alec Empire at the O2 Academy, Islington. Cryogenica played at The Dark Mills Festival in 2010 and at The Spa Pavilion Theatre at Whitby Goth Weekend in November 2011, supporting steam punk legends Abney Park. Their third album “from the shadows” was released 25 th October 2014 and draws upon inspirations from the goth, industrial, electronic, shoegaze and rock genres whilst also subtly drawing on horror movie soundtracks for additional ambiance. The album was written and produced by Cryogenica, mixed and mastered by Reza Udhin (of Killing Joke) at Cryonica Studios and is distributed by Resurrection Records. Cryogenica are actively seeking press, interviews and shows across the UK and Europe to promote the new album. from the shadows CD 2014 reanimation CD 2010 cryogenica CD 2012 redux EP 2007
