• WHAT AFWN 2O16 Gala. An evening parading elan, oomph, glitz and glamour in large doses. With some of Nigeria's most stylish celebrities and professionals on parade. It's a sumptuous gala of about 3 hours, with dinner, music, drama, fashion show and awards as its main elements.

• WHY With guests dressed in their most fabulous garbs. The event recognises some of those icons amongst us, rewarding them with plaques of honour. An evening of great fun and drama, also providing the prospects of networking and affording the future design stars of the nearest future a platform to showcase their exciting new creations in front of the most appreciative and chicest of audience and fans.

• WHO The close to a thousand guests are drawn from every walks of life. With those who count on the style stakes, the fashionistas, the style mavens, the goddesses of great forms and the style kings taking the front rows. Successful professionals and entrepreneurs who have made their marks littering everywhere.

• WHEN The month of July, on the 1st is a conference that would have industry experts and other players in the industry discuss, then on July 2nd, fashion show starts with the upcoming designers, on the 3rd of 2016, from 6pm when the red carpet would have begun to 7pm when the event proper would have started till about 10pm. The Gala would be one to look forward to and very cool to be seen at.

• WHERE None other than the City of Grace in the Centre of Aquatic excellence. The very expansive Hall of the Eko Hotel, which can seat a very sizeable Nos of people, accommodate a standard runway, a bandstand and still have ample room to shuffle the feet if need be.

• How The Gala night starting with red carpet reception event, to a cocktail hangout, through dinner to a fabulous series of fashion showcases, to interludes of sonorous music to presentation of awards to our worthy icons, this 3 hours event would surely live up to its billing.

AFRICA FASHION WEEK NIGERIA (AFWN) was created by Ms. Ronke Ademiluyi, Our distinct journey as a proudly Nigerian, Proudly African and international brand began about 6 years ago in London. What we started then as a small brand to satisfy a niche, has now gone on to become an award winning and very well recognized brand which is the biggest platform of its kind in Europe showcasing African designers and African inspired fashion. The popularity and success of the Africa Fashion Week London brand was what triggered us to bring the brand home to Nigeria. Africa Fashion Week Nigeria, now in its 3rd has been a memorable and very fulfilling journey. In just a few days, we will not only be celebrating our 3rd year anniversary but it will be yet another Africa Fashion Week from 1st July to 3rd July 2016 with a conference, fashion exhibition and showcase of upcoming and established designers.

Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) is Europe's largest catwalk event of African and African-inspired design. A collaborative catwalk and exhibition, highlighting the industry’s established and emerged African designers, AFWN is at the forefront of capturing the surge of the African inspired trends in the fashion industry. Our annual event aims to celebrate the work of African and African inspired designers in the UK and worldwide.
