World was plagued with generic-looking goods, which drove Jen and Gail nuts! With a shared frustration with the lack of affordable, funky, functional laptop sleeves. Jen & Gail combined their powers to design the funkiest, yet most practical laptop sleeves. Hoo-hah!

Meet Jen Horn & Gail Go, the proud brainparents of Punchdrunk Panda (PdP). What started almost as a whim to make a few extra bucks on the side has evolved into a full-blown enterprise. Now, with Punchdrunk Panda and his posse, Jen and Gail seek to dominate the world with funkiness!

2009 2010 2011

Punchdrunk Panda takes over the web! PdP churned out one experimental batch after another, adding new features to make the sleeves that much more practical, while releasing more designs. Using only Multiply.com as a platform for selling (and the sporadic, seasonal bazaars), PdP gained popularity on the net as the go-to brand for quirky-looking, super useful laptop sleeves in the Philippines. Incidentally, this is also the year Punchdrunk Panda grew his black & white posse to include Schizo Skunk, Psycho Penguin and Quirky Cat. Yipee!

WHAT ARE WE UP TO?

Punchdrunk Panda takes over your TV screens! ...And several retail stores in the Philippines! PdP became super popular this year. Dealing with the media and our fans was a major concern in daily business operations. Also, with a mutual desire to create original graphic designs, Jen & Gail finally mustered up the courage to create all original graphic designs for the brand. PdP then started to grow its pool of artists, and made Punchdrunk Panda sleeves a way to showcase Filipino graphic design skillz that killz! :D

But laptop sleeves alone are not enough for world domination. After yet another year, they figgered, heck, why limit adding funkiness to laptop sleeves? There are a bunch of other things that could use an extra dose of funky. So then came the camera straps, and shoes for guys and girls, which have also proven to be successful attempts at reducing the plain, the bland and the boring.

Today, Punchdrunk Panda continues to grow its pool of artists with each release while finding new products to apply designs onto. All this is done to fulfill their mission to funkify the world by ridding it of one boring product at a time.

CREATIVITY. We’re all about design, and giving graphic artists & illustrators unconventional canvases to apply their artworks on. Sky’s the limit as to what our designs can range from, but we try to keep everything PG-13. :D Other than that, we let our artists’ creative juices flow to come up with their rendition of our ideas. And for those of you who aren’t as adept in drawing or illustrating, we give you the ability to be creative by expressing your own personal style! What better way is there than through our stuff! Oh yeah.

Bottom line is, in all the products we create,

we try to

make things pretty,

make things that work,

make things better, make things with pride, and

make things we love.

So in all that we do, we try to inject: FUNCTION. While we put great emphasis on design, truly good design is also functional. This is why in creating our laptop sleeves, we tried our best to include all the extra nifty features to make your everyday laptop usage efficient. And while our shoes are super cool-looking, we also try our best to make them comfy-feeling, after all, a cool-looking shoe can only be cool to look at if they’re actually worn. And people don’t really want to suffer in painful shoes just to look cool, right?

CHANGE. We are so open to change. We look for change all around is how we are so open to change. :P So when we see products in the market that need an extra oomph!, we Punchdrunk Panda-fy it. And when we see ways to improve our existing products, (or when you guys give us your valuable, valuable feedback) we do what we can to apply them in our next batches. Level up!

FILIPINO. Okay, fine. We are not a blatantly Filipino company. Our company name is in English and our main icon, a panda, is not an animal endemic to the Philippines at all. In fact, apart from Punchdrunk Panda, the only other pandas you’ll probably find in the Philippines are Kung-fu Panda and Hello Panda. It just so happens that with globalization, and the insane access the Internet gives us to everything foreign, we find inspiration across the world, the universe even! But whenever we come out with a new collection, we do what we can to sprinkle Pinoy touches, and we always, always take pride in the fact that

PASSION. At PdP, we love what we do. And when we’re developing new products, coming up with new designs, planning new promos, photo shoots or getting ready for bazaars, we feel those little butterflies fluttering in our stomachs. We’re nervous and excited about all the little things, just like when you’re in lurve. And while we may be clumsy out of giddiness at times, we definitely give our all. And we do hope to win you over with that. Here’s where you go: “Aww…*melts*”.
