We, the members of the KAPPA IAMHDA GIAP‘IER of the (MESA PSI PHI FRA'I'ERNI‘I'Y,believe that men of similar ideas of fellowship should bind themselves togetherin order ‘ to form a mre perfect union among college men, to promote the principlesof manhood, scholarship, uplift, and perservance, to further brotherly love andfraternal spirit within the organization to protect the sanctity of the hare andthe chastity of W, do enact and establish this Constitution and accompanyingBy—Iaws for the government of its members.

Name, Symbol, and Territory

Section 1. The name of the organization shall be KAPPA LAMBDA CHAPTER, OMEGAPSI PHI FRA'IERNITY, INC.

Section 2. The symbol of the Chapter shall be the Greek letters, KAPPA IAMBDA.

Section 3. KAPPA lAMBDA Chapter of the Sixth District of Qnega Psi PhiFraternity, Inc. covers urxiergraduates at Dbrth Carolina StateUniversity in Raleigh, North Carolina.

ARTICLE II

Purpose

Section 1. The purpose of this Chapter of the Qnega Psi Phi Fraternity shallbe to bring about the union of college men of similar high ideals ofscholarship and manhood in order:

a. To stimulate the attaimrent of ideals and ambitions of its members;b. ’Ib disseminate and inculcate those ideals among those with Mm

its mnbers owe in contact;c. To cocperate with other undergraduate chapters in the

Sixth District fostering these ideas;6.. To occupy a progressive, helpful, and constructive place in

the civic and political life of the university, community, andthe Sixth District;

e. To prepare its members for greater usefulness in the causes ofhumanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual;

f. To aid down-troden humanity in its efforts to achieve highersocial, ecorunic, and intellectual status.

CHAPTERIIARTICLE I

Officers of the Chapter

Names of Officers: The Officers of the Chapter shall be Basileus,Vice Basileus, Keeper of Records and Seal, Keeper of Finance,Chaplain, Dean of Pledgees, Sergeant-at-Arms, and Chapter Reporter.

Term of Office: All officers of the Chapter shall be elected ateach annual Chapter Meeting. The Basileus shall serve no more thantwo (2) consecutive terms. All Chapter officers may be retainedin the same office no longer than two (2) successive terms.

Any officer can be impeached and removed by a 2/3 majority vote ofChapter members in good standing.

The officers named in Section 1, along with the outgoing Basileusand two elected members in good and regular standing with theFraternity, shall make up the Executive Committee.

The supreme governing body of the Clepter shall be the regularstated meetings of the Chapter. In the interim of Chapter Meetings,the Executive Committee shall act in the best interest of the Chapter,subject to the Chapter Constitution and By—Iaws. The ExecutiveCommittee shall have no authority to alter, change, or amend anyaction taken in a Chapter Meeting.

CHAPTER IIIARTICLE I

Ameniments to the Constitution

Amerximents to this Constitution may be made by any Chapter memberin good and regular standing.

This Constitution may be amended as follows:

Amendments to the proposed Constitution as herein provided shallbe submitted to the Chapter, in writing, at a regular meeting,andactedonattherextregularmeeting, andshallbeconsideredadopted by a two-third vote of the members present.

CHAPTERIVARTICLEI

Effective Date

This Constitution shall become effective immediately after theregular meeting in which it was adopted.

CHAP'IER IIARTICLE I

Officers and Duties

officers shall be elected at the Annual Chapter Meeting each year.

Basileus:Basileus shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Chapter,shall preside over the Chapter Meetings.

Keeper of Records and Seal:Keeper of Records and Seal shall receive an annual honorariumto exceed our annual Chapter dues.

The KRS shall keep the records and minutes of the Chapter Meetings.rlihe KRS shall perform such duties as may be assigned to him bythe Chapter Basileus, the District, ami/or the National Offices.

Keeper of Finance:

The Keepe of Finance will issue checks upon a written voucherby the Basileus.The KF shall report to the Basileus the total number of brothers,and the total nmber of financial brothers. The same to beforwarded to the District and National Offices at the appropriatetime.

The Vice Basileus:The Vice Basileus shall act in the absence of the Basileus.

stated by the Nationals) for the Chapter.

Finance

All Chapter, District, and National dues shall be paid or sentto the Chapter Officers through the Area Chapter Officers.

Dues will be sent to the National and District Offices no laterthan Novarber l.
