6 Boxes Activity: During this activity, it is important that you show respect for differences, confidentiality, and for taking risks.
Overview/Directions: This is a silent activity. Get out a piece of paper and fold it lengthwise (hotdog), and then fold into thirds. Open it up, and you should have 6 boxes. Number the boxes 1-6. Draw a response to prompt #1 in Box 1, response to prompt #2 in Box 2, and so on. Your drawings can be symbolic or representational of an idea.

Factors that Affect Voter TurnoutObjective: To examine data on voter turnout from the Census Bureau and attempt to determine what are the factors that affect voter turnout and consider what impact these have on our political system.

The 'Ideal' Presidential Candidate
Objective: To explore the qualities and positions that we seek in leaders, to create an ‘ideal’ candidate who would be best suited for the office of the presidency.
Steps:
1. Create a draft of your candidate’s o personal information o positions on the issues articulated in 2-3 sentences o slogan
As you create this presidential candidate consider: o Electability – make sure you read over the voter profiles o Constitutional requirements, executive powers, and federalism o Readings, reflections and data we have studied o Leadership qualities, including clarity, compromise and creativity o Do not recreate current candidates
