President & C.E.O., Joseph A. LaSorsa, CPP

Mr. LaSorsa is a former Senior Special Agent of the U.S. Secret Service.

Mr. LaSorsa has also held senior security management positions in the private sector, establishing corporate security divisions for two different companies.

His 20-year Secret Service career includes the following highlights:

• He was a member of the Presidential Protection Detail during the Reagan administration.

• He was a member of a Secret Service Task Force in Milan Italy, with a mission to suppress the counterfeiting of the United States currency overseas.

• He was a member of the development team responsible for initiating the pilot program on Telecommunications fraud.

• He served as a member of the Secret Service Director’s “Total Quality Management team”.

• He was awarded the Secretary of the Treasury Award in recognition for outstanding investigative work. This award is the highest achievement award attainable within the Department of the treasury.

• He is a graduate of Queens College, City University of New York (1976) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and a minor in Languages.

Mr. LaSorsa is also a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), an internationally renowned organization of security professionals. He has been certifi ed as a Certifi ed Protection Professional* by the ASIS Professional Certifi cation Board. In addition, he is a

N.Y. State certifi ed instructor in the Police Science and Security fi eld.

*To earn a CPP (Certifi ed Protection Professional) certifi cation as an Asset Protection and Loss Protection Professional, individuals must pass a battery of mandatory and specialty exams in the areas of criminal / civil investigations, physical security and legal liability aspects of individual security, after having met strict experience and/or education prerequisites. CPPs must pursue a program of continuing education and professional activity to earn required re-certifi cation every three years. Less than 15,000 of the millions of security practitioners worldwide have been awarded the CPP credential.
