The Year ofLooking Through the Eternal Door of Glory
www.charisacademy.org 3
At sundown on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, the children of Israel will recognize
the beginning of their new year 5774. This is the day know as Rosh Hashanah, the head of the year. They recognize this
as the anniversary of the first day of creation. It is celebrated throughout all the
land with the blowing of the shofar which symbolizes the breath of Yahweh in the creation
event.

For centuries, Hebrew sages and scholars have looked to the Torah to
determine how it relates to the seasons they were exiting and entering. They recognized that the wisdom contained
within the sacred text could direct them if they only applied it properly.
Each season we traverse through corresponds to a ten year cycle within the Hebrew calendar. Within a cycle, a unique facet is emphasized each year. Collectively, these facets make up the
context for the entire season.
www.charisacademy.org 5
Each facet is represented by the meaning of the Hebrew letter which corresponds to the numeric value of the year. This feature is
available to any person who considers what the original Hebrew language has to say on
the matter. This is not divination or numerology by any stretch of the
imagination. It is a process involving looking at the numeric value of the year, its
corresponding Hebrew letters, and how and where the words they represent appear in
scripture.
This year the letters we focus upon are Ayin and
Dalet.
Numerical Values…
Each of the 22 Hebrew letters has an assigned numerical value. These values can give us an actual word or just the letter pattern.

Dalet as a door…Doors are places of transition at pivotal moments in our lives. They require us to discern what can't be seen in order to make a decision. Often we know what is behind a door and chose to go through in advance. At pivotal moments in our lives we are confronted with doors that do not look like doors but become apparent much later on.
This year requires us look at what the decision to go through a door will create in our lives. In a word, this is a year of discernment.
In the Hebrew words we see much dealing with Israel’s failure to go through, or pass over, by following the word of The Lord to enter their promised land. Their hard-heartedness and disbelief forced an entire generation to miss what God intended for them. God’s way led them to experience a weakening of their prideful nature through 40 years of journeying around the border of their promise, able to see but never able to possess.

The first and last word of the Gimmel year dealt with pride.

was dealing with pride!

A Picture of GimmelGimmel is formed from a Zayin and
a Yod. Zayin means "sword" and Yod means "hand." Here then is a picture of grace: Gimmel approaches the poor man of Dalet, behind the door, with an open hand (the "sword" (of Zayin) is facing the other direction). The Holy Spirit comes, as the Emissary of Jesus, and knocks on the door of the heart. The sword of judgment, however, is sheathed, and this then represents the opportunity to repent and let the Spirit of God into your heart.

A Unique Year…
In classical Hebrew Dalet is constructed of two lines and a corner point (or overhang)
called an "ear." The bent shape of the dalet
symbolizes a needy person who is bent over (the word Dalet comes from (dalah)
which means to draw out or impoverish, and the word
(dalut) means poor or impoverished). Dalet's ear is said to be listening for the
gemilut chasidim of the approaching Gimmel.
14www.charisacademy.org
Dalet represents lowliness and the consciousness of
possessing nothing of one's own. As a door Dalet
also symbolically represents the choice to
open ourselves to the hope of our dreams or to
remain closed off and alienated.

The Fourth Day…
Genesis 1:14-19(14) And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the
heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
(15) And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
(16) And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
(17) And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
(18) And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
(19) And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

The Witness of what?Deuteronomy 6:4-12
(4) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
(5) And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
(6) And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
(7) And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
(8) And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
(9) And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
(10) And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
(11) And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
(12) Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

The Greater Witness1 John 5:6-10
(6) This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
(7) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
(8) And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
(9) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
(10) He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

Moving from 5773 to 5774…Revelation 3:14-22(14) And unto the angel of the
church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
(15) I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
(16) So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
(17) Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
(18) I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou
mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
(19) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
(20) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
(21) To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
(22) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

(8) Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
(9) When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
(10) Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

4–fold focus of the yearEphesians 3:14-19
(14) For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
(15) Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
(16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
(17) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
(18) May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

Declarations of 5774
This is the year that I no longer allow the specter of doubt and unbelief to keep me from entering
my promise. I am well able to discern what doors to pass through to fulfill my destiny. No longer will I stand on the threshold of my destiny and desecrate the blood of my covenant with
the Father. I do not accept that the enemy called death can pass through before me since the
blood of Christ has purchased the path I am on. My path was prepared by a love that passes all
my understanding in its depth, breadth, height and length.
www.charisacademy.org 33
Declarations of 5774
This is a year I commit to the violent giving of kind deeds which keeps the
enemy in remembrance of his true position. My offerings will be cast
abroad and return in innumerable ways through my generous heart. Others will
marvel at the abundance which will overwhelm and overtake me.
www.charisacademy.org 34
Declarations of 5774
This is a year where my words take on flesh. I will see what the Father is doing and command it to be so on earth. I will bring new life to dead things simply by speaking the right word at the right moment. In these
matters I will be following the way of the Lord where all things are possible because I believe in the nature of His
word to complete what it is sent to do.www.charisacademy.org 35
Declarations of 5774
This is the year I exchange my feeble attempts to worship the Father in my strength and align with the heavenly host who has been worshipping for all eternity. I will pattern my praise and worship not as the world has, but as David did in his tabernacle, and I will
see the glory and power of the Father work on my behalf.
www.charisacademy.org 36
Declarations of 5774
I am not of the previous generation that failed to enter the rest promised by the Father. I submit myself to the
ways of God knowing that He cares for me. I am attentive to hear the voice that is knocking on the door to my
heart. As I humble and empty myself according to the ways of God, I
receive the fullness of His glorious kingdom.
www.charisacademy.org 37
Declarations of 5774
This is the year where what I have gone through in the Lord will be taught to
those who are earnestly seeking the truth. As I cling to the Lord and steadfastly seek Him, I become a witness of His
goodness to those who cross my path. I am a standard of the righteous nature
which grants access to the throne of God. I freely give into my community the gifts that the Father continues to place in my
charge.www.charisacademy.org 38
Declarations of 5774
This is the year that I come out of the complacency of captivity, of slaving for the pleasure and fulfillment of a kingdom I’ve
been dragged into. The work of my hands, which others took pride in, are my weapons of deliverance. Blood has redeemed them,
secured their purpose, and now decrees that everything I touch is Kingdom property. Now is my time to seize the treasure in a foreign land. I demand the return of what
is already mine.www.charisacademy.org 39
