CDC: Framework for Healthcare Systems Providing Non-COVID-19 Clinical Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic• Onset: CDC recommended delay
of elective care/ prioritizing urgent visits
• Consequence: under utilization of important medical services
• Going forward: need to balance necessary services and minimization of risk to patients and HCP
• Key considerations• Stay informed
• Before expansion: operation with crisis standards of care
• Ensure adequate staff, bed capacity, PPE and other supplies

CDC: Framework for Healthcare Systems Providing Non-COVID-19 Clinical Care During the COVID-19 PandemicKey Considerations (continued)
• Provide Care in the safest way possible• Telehealth
• Follow recommendations for infection control
• Services that may need to expand gradually• Work with state and local epidemiology recommendations
• Prioritize services that would result in harm if deferred
• Prioritize at-risk populations

Elements of an Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection Program
• Develop a check list of important items
• Orientation
• Training
• Evaluation of performance
Example of a checklist

Orientation
• What are the items that the cleaner will encounter?
• What are the key items to focus on?• These items are high risk items and drive performance evaluation

Contact TimeEnsure agents used to clean and disinfect are used according to the label instructions.
Contact time is how long a disinfectant needs to remain on a surface.
• Critically important to ensure the virus is inactivated
• All persons that use cleaning and disinfectants should be able to identify how long surfaces must remain wet for the chemical to work
• Example: If you have a 10 minutes product, please make sure your staff are aware of that time and use it appropriately or consider changing to another product with a shorter time.
Choosing the right agent
• List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2All products on this list meet EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.• You can search a product by using the first 2 sets of its EPA registration
number into the search bar
