Situation in Croatia

– from 1986 (the first case) till the end of 2008 cumulative number of HIV/AIDS registered cases was 714 (only 1% tested inhabitants of Croatia)

– 122 Deaths due to AIDS, with 218 AIDS cases currently

– transmission: 58% MSM/bisex

CAHIV history

• Established in year 1999,main reason lack of medical and social care, stigmatization and discrimination

– development objectives include prevention of HIV/AIDS, assistance to PLWHA and insuring that they receive adequate medical and social treatment

• 1st established in 2004.g.by CAHIV• Field of working is testing and counseling ( free and anonymuous )• No health care clinics for HIV patiens ( good way of spreading stigma and

discrimination )
