Management Facility The Solution:

Geotube® system designed and

developed by Bishop Water

Technologies

Geotube® system, will

reduce the amount of solids

discharging into the river,

from 2,000 mg of solids per

litre per day to 25 mg of solids

per litre per day

More than 300 dry metric tons

of solids will be diverted from

the Tay River per year.



Management Facility The Pilot Project:

Full scale facility for pilot

project was installed

• 40 cubic meter mix tank

• polymer trailer

• 2 Geotube MDS units in

roll off bins




2 siphons each drained 4

times a day total 18 cubic

meters each siphon for a

total of 144 cubic meters

a day or 0.4 dry tons of

solids per day released to

Tay River.




Polymer trailer was

installed between mix

tank and MDS Geotube

units. Will make down in

real time a 0.5% polymer

solution.




Each Geotube unit is able

to hold 20 cubic meters of

dewatered material




Filtrate from the Geotube

units was discharged

during pilot to the Tay

river.

TSS of the siphon wash

was up to 3000 mg/L




The filtrate was

discharged into the Tay

river TSS ranged between

25-5 mg/L

How Geotube® Dewatering Technology Works


DEWATERING PHASE

As the liquid escapes

from the tube, solid

particles are trapped

inside. The pumping

process is repeated

until the tube is full.

be handled as dry material,

transportation and disposal
