Admission - Team Personnel All classifications will be allowed two support personnel and the following number of coaches to be admitted without an IHSAA card or tournament pass: 1-3 participants: 3 coaches; 4-9 participants: 4 coaches; 10-17 participants: 5 coaches; 18 and above participants: 6 coaches. Any coaches or support personnel exceeding that number must have either an IHSAA card or purchase a tournament pass but will not be allowed on the floor. There will be no extra wristbands given out.

Bracelets for the appropriate number of coaches and support personnel will be enclosed in the coach’s packet, which will be available Thursday evening and Friday prior to weigh-in. Only coaches with a wristband will be allowed on the floor area.

Participant stamps will be issued during weigh-ins. Wrestlers will not be admitted without this stamp. There will be a designated entrance for participants. Only wrestlers with the proper color stamp will be allowed in the mat area.

Seeding Information Every coach must make sure of the following items:

1. All results must be signed off on TrackWrestling. This must be submitted by 7:00 p.m.on Saturday, February 22nd.

2. Email [email protected] with any questions.

Additional Information

Dressing Rooms Due to limited space, wrestlers are encouraged to dress prior to arriving at the tournament site. Towels: Towels will not be furnished. Weigh-ins Official weigh-ins will be conducted in the locker rooms at Ford Idaho Center. Weight Classifications 98, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285 A contestant shall no wrestle more than two weight classes above that class of his actual stripped weight at the time of weigh-ins. In accordance with the National Federation rules, one additional pound will be allowed for each consecutive day of competitions up to a maximum of two pounds.

The following recommendations have been adopted by the IHSAA Board of Directors and will be observed during the state wrestling tournament in regard to blood/bleeding wrestlers on the mat:

1. Provide disposable towels on the mat to be used by wrestlers and officials in case of bleeding

2. A container in the mat area for soiled towels 3. A container of disinfectant or bleach solution at each mat for removal of blood from the

mat

The Board encourages schools to observe the recommendations in non-state competitions. Mat Maids, Cheerleaders, Bands, etc. No mat maids, cheerleaders, drill teams or bands will be admitted free. Tickets may be picked up and signed for at the tournament site. The school will be invoiced after the tournament. District Tournament Certification There is a three scratch weigh-in requirement for entry into the district tournament. Growth Allowance A two-point growth allowance will be added to each weight class for all wrestlers on January 1st. This may not be used to qualify for a lower weight class. Examples: Wrestler A’s minimum certified wrestling weight is 115 pounds, which puts him/her in the 120 weight class. After January 1st, the 113 weight class becomes 115, but Wrestler A is still only eligible for the 120 class. Mats and Officials Twelve mats will be used all day Friday and for the consolation and consolation semis. Eight mats will be used for the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th place matches on Saturday. Only four mats will be

used in the finals on Saturday night. An assistant referee will be used only during consolation and championship semifinals and consolation and championship finals. Parade of Champions The finalists in each weight class are to be dressed in uniform and meet at the designated area by 3:00 PM on Saturday. Further instructions will be given at that time. Coaches of last year’s team champions will be invited to lead the grand entry. Awards The coach of each champion will make the presentation of medals. The awards will be given 2A/4A first, followed by 3A/5A. Medals will be given to the first six places in each weight class in each division. Team trophies will be awarded to the champion, runner-up, third place and fourth place in each classification. Professional Photos Professional photos will be taken of wrestlers on the awards stands by Steve Conner Photography and can be purchased by visiting www.steveconnerphotography.com calling Steve Conner at (208) 841-0492 or emailing [email protected] Parents and fans will not be allowed on the floor to take pictures. There will be a banner upstairs for individual photos. Scoring Table Towel throwers will be instructed to stand and move to the edge of the mat when 15 seconds remain in the period. With 10 seconds remaining, the thrower will go onto the mat to a position facing the timer. When time expires, the official will be touched or the towel dropped into the wrestlers. T-shirts & Souvenir Merchandise State tournament t-shirts and other souvenir merchandise will be sold at the tournament by McU Sports. Protests The IHSAA Board of Directors does not recognize protests of sports officials' decisions. Correction of errors can only be handled in accordance with the NFHS rules.
